I was so happy to know that Chartwell is now run by Dr. Andrew Newbury. Several years ago my beautiful little cat Pongo required two surgeries for cancerous tumors and this clinic gave me the best care. Unfortunately my Pongo has passed on but I will always be thankful to Andrew and Caroline Benson for their care and compassion.

Our dog has been with the clinic since he was baby and now he is already 11 years old. Through the years, I have seen the changes and expansions in the clinic and Dr. Benson and Dr. Newbery are both very compassionate to the pets. They really can offer you advice about my dog's health concerns and issues. Their staff are very friendly and make us so comfortable for every visit. Recently our dog had dental and eyelid surgeries with the clinic and I am so glad that he has been taken really good care of - from pre-procedure discussion, reminders to the post-surgical follow ups and home care. Now we are so impressed that our dog is recovering well and we truly hope he will stay healthy with the good care by the clinic.

I bought my pup from my groomer near Midland/Steeles, and they worked with the vet clinic on Brimley/Steeles name Ashcott, to get the pups free vaccinations/fixing would be on a lower price because of the referrals. Anyways, I was horrified by their service and experience. But anyways, I researched clinics near the area... phoned etc. The staff at Chartwell is above and beyond animal lovers. They are so WELCOMING! even before meeting me on the phone they are so welcoming. Linda the receptionist remembers my pup's name and every issue. Dr. Newberry is such a sweet, detail oriented vet. I definitely refer this clinic, everyone is so welcoming and sweet. They are understanding and knowledgeable. I felt a little agitated with the questions I had for myself... and the staff here has been nothing but patient with me, I kept changing my appt because I was unsure if I want to fix him. But the staff here... are amazing. Please consider them.

I absolutely LOVE this clinic!! Everything I could possibly want is here! My dogs are raw fed and having Dr Benson there with her hollistic approach is so amazing and so helpful. She is very willing to offer her suggestions and actually listen to my own opinions and the research I have done and we really work together for a better healthy lifestyle for my boys. Dr Newberry is just as fantastic! Although, a traditional vet, he is very respectful to my hollistic approach in treating my boys. There is never any pressure to vaccinate or medicate unneccsarily and he will even suggest what is not required! Love them!! Of course their staff is always helpful and friendly. We also like to make social visits to see Linda at the front desk. My boys are always happy to visit their friends at Chartwell. We have since moved from Scarborough but make the trip from Vaughan!

Dr.Benson is honestly the best vet I have ever seen. She is so caring and passionate about taking care of her furry clients. She is more than accommodating in every way. What I especially like about her is that she takes the time to talk to you about your pet's health and what your options are (when your animal is sick or just in general animal health care) - she's not all about 'sell,sell,sell' and decisions are based on what's best for you and your pet.

Dr. Benson is knowledgeable, genuinely caring and always available. I have never met someone so wonderful and kind with animals. My dogs love her. I would not hesitate to recommend Dr. Benson to anyone.

My dogs were with Dr Carolyn Benson and I thought she was fantastic! Very knowledgable, flexible and more than wiling to extend herself. I loved that I could get an integrated approach to vet care. Dr Benson took time to discuss and educate and not simply sell-sell-sell as is often the case in vet clinics. The only reason I'm not at the clinic anymore is that I've moved several hours away, but I did contemplate if I could make the drive...

My family has been using this clinic for over 36 years! From the founder Dr Lot to Dr Newbury (current) They stand out from other veterinary clinics to such an extent that I drive over and hour to take my dogs there. We've just had to put down our beloved Pug, and they were kind and compassionate through the entire, sad ordeal. He was a dog with a complicated medical history, and my confidence in Dr Newbury's skill and expertise never wavered. I commend the great staff! I highly recommend this clinic!

Been doing business with this clinic for three years now but I find myself conflicted. Reason being is that the bill I get near the end of every visit is well over $500. As much as I love the staff and the care they give to my dog, there are times when I wonder if they are doing the appropriate and necessary medical test for my dog.

Dr. Newberry has been great to all our dogs and cats. It is obvious that he loves each and every one of his little patients. He always explains everything in terms you can understand and has all the options available (not just ones that cost money either) All the staff are great, especially Linda, always has a great big smile on her face when we walk in the door. Have since moved from Scarborough, but still drive from Richmond HIll for all our vet needs.

I have never been to a better veterinary clinic than this one. The care of your animal is amazing, but their thoughtfulness to you as an owner is most appreciated. We had to put my mom's dog to sleep lately and they were so understanding and considerate of our feelings. Dr. Newbury, Linda, Brenda and Vicki are so caring, it is a pleasure to visit them. Would recommend this clinic to anyone with a pet. We have brought all our animals here for the last 25 years.

Dr. Newbery, Brenda, Linda and all the team are simply amazing - if you have surgery on yr pets, both Dr. and team members check to ensure pet is doing well (and parents, as well! LOL). Apptments are kept on time; facilities are spotless; Brenda, Linda, front office team are incredibly kind, thoughtful and respond promptly to all queries, estimates, etc. Clinic prices are very fair according to market value. Andrew, Linda and the rest of the team are amazing! Very thorough and caring. When my cat was sick they called me at home more often to see how he was more that my friends do for me!

Still wish I could go to this vet. Dr Newbury looked things up and consulted with university for my dog's rare disease at no extra charge. He also personally delivered medicine to my house for no charge. Was very caring and sympathetic when we had to put my dog down. If you live in Scarborough consider yourself lucky you can go there.

I have been going to this veterinary clinic for 26 years. They have cared for all of my cats over the years. Very friendly, knowledgeable and compassionate staff. They truly care about our pets.

I have been using this Vet office for 12 years. They saved my dog's life on more than one occasion. I have always found them thoughtful, caring and very knowledgeable. My previous dog had many ailments including addison's desease, diabetes and many other complications. If it were not for the care given by Dr. Newbury and all the staff I know she would not have lived 11 years! My current dog is happy and healthy and I would not take her anywhere else.

This clinic is only out to get the most money out of you as possible. They are very careless and ignore things they are unsure about which can be life threatening (eg. such as a spot showing on an x-ray). They do many unnecessary things that has nothing to do with the problem in order to milk your wallet.
