We have gone to 5 clinics over the 40 years we have lived in this area. Shady Oak clinic is by far the best. This includes end of life, two dogs with cancer and one with lung infection(both lungs). The lower punctual rating is due to Dr.Barb spending time explaining choices and reviewing procedures with you. Costs are very competitive and less than some other clinics. Simply put they care about your pets AND you!

Dr. Barb has been providing care the last 9-years for my two dogs and now a cat. Dr. Barb has excellent DX skills, takes the extra time with pets and owners, which at times you have a longer wait but it is worth waiting to have a DVM listen, gentle with your pets, provide information and takes time with the animals. I have never felt rushed during the appointments. My only unhappiness with the clinic is some of the staff have consistently been rude, abrupt and inattentive. Some of the staff are great and some no so much.

We found the Shady Oak Veterinary clinic ten years ago and were very happy with the service in the small clinic. Then the business started to grow and the quality of the care to decline. We eventually dropped the clinic after numerous incidents and somewhat arrogant and ignored care. When our 3-year old cat had breathing problems, we took him to our vet where he was misdiagnosed (allergies)and his condition worsened. When he suddenly could not breathe anymore, we took him to the closest clinic, the Shady Oak, where Dr. Barb examined the cat (after we waited for her for an hour) and found the real problem, a heart condition and lungs full of fluids. Her recommendation was to drain the fluid and add diuretics for the weekend as First Aid. When we came back to pick up the cat, we again waited for an hour to see Dr. barb, but she ignored us. An assistant gave us x-rays and pills and sent us home because they could not drain the fluid. We had to put the cat down due to increased agony.

I discovered this Vet here on this sight after a very frustrating experience at another facility. Both Dr. Barb and Dr. Sharon and the entire staff were excellent in the diagnosis and treatment of my cat. The facilities were nice and clean, they were punctual, knowledgable and the prices were very reasonable. After my last vet experience, I was very pleased to find people who really care about animals and aren't just looking to see how "much" ($$) you care about your pet. The follow up here is excellent too, calling to check in, etc. I truly feel I have found a Vet I will stay with for years to come!

I love this clinic. The vet and all of the staff are exceptional. They are very caring people and you can tell they all love what they do. I moved out of the area, but still drive 1.5 hours back to this office.

Dr. Barb and her staff take the time to discuss everything you need to know about your pet and their health. She is accurate and her rates are good. When it comes to customer service other clinics could learn from them.

Dr Barb is very good at explaining what is happening and what your options are. Therefore we don't mind waiting as we know we will get the same attention to detail. We have tried several closer vets, but in the end still drive an hour to see her.
