For pets sake, RUN from here, I SWEAR you will eventually regret it if you step into this place. VERY dishonest and ONLY interested in inflating your bill. Our cat was betrayed after paying $3200 to keep her alive. They intended to pull a tooth and left it broken below the gum and it infected her skull. She died horribly!!! RUN RUN RUN from here!

This place is horrible!! My dog came out shaking out of there and they told me he was perfectly fine and I took him to my vet and they told me he was sick. Never again will I take him there.

Took our dog to Mohnacky because of loose stools. They proceeded to tell us that he needed a battery of tests for $450. We brought in a fresh sample and they never opened the bag. But charged us for two different tests. After the first set of test results were back, we were informed that our dog would have to stay in doggie hospital for the night. They wanted to be sure he was OK. But no one is there after closing hours. So how would they know if our dog was OK or NOT? So now the bill is up to $862. Picked our dog today and the vet told us that it was probably due to stress.
We are very disappointed with the treatment we received and would not go back or recommend them.

Been taking my dogs here for years, but recently, they made a bad call with my older dog and within 2 days, we had to put him down. They charged 2x for an exam on the same day when he became sick after the vaccinations. When I left a message that our dog died (after they said he would be fine) they never even called back to say they were sorry for our loss. Do NOT take your pets here, it's all about the $$ and covering their backs!

Good thing that the exams are actually 48 dollars and vaccines are included. So youre lying in regards to walking out paying 90 dollars for an exam and shots. And for your 50 spay, sorry youre cheap and was offered flea prevention so that their hospital wouldnt get infested because you didnt take care of your pet before. You probably are only fixing them because you got fined in the first place. As for military its YOUR responsibility to let the front desk know you are active duty. Get over yourself its a buisness not everyone can be saints cause your broke.

THE WORST TREATMENT I HAVE EVER HAD. AFTER REQUESTING MY DOG TO STAY WITH ME FOR A SHOT, THEY INSISTED ON TAKING HIM AND CAGING HIM WHILE I WAITED IN THE FILTHY ROOM. FOR A SHOT???? I HAD A FIT 25 MINUTES LATER AND THEY STILL HAD NOT GIVEN HIM A SHOT...THEN AT THE RECEPTION, THEY CHARGED ME FOR 3 YEARS OF SHOTS...WTF!!! SHOULD BE CLOSED!!!

We purchased our puppy through California Pets as well (which if I didn't love the dog i wouldn't have done becuase they are known for not keeping thier contracts of insurance). So we went there because we had to. I was very surprised at teh price of simple things like shots, teeth cleanings, and check ups...but I didn't really know any better because this is our first dog. Come to find out that the prices are WAY to high! Everytime I would call to set up an appointment i would sit on hold for about 30 minutes and the receptionist wasn't nice about it. It bothered me that i spent more time with the assistant and not the vet themselves, in fact she barley even touched my dog. Now my puppy has a hurt leg and contract or not I am taking him else where. Try Banfield, I have only heard good things about the Escondido one. Oh and I am talking about the Monachy Escondido location.

Ive went to Mohnacky vet for all my puppies shots. We got our dog at California pets and so they have a deal with Mohnacky..So we had to go there. Well after awhile I realized the vets spend no time with you and they charge you 49$ just for an examination fee and then all the other things your getting done! So usually Id walk out of there with at 80-100$ bill just for shots. My husband is in the military also never got any of the discounts until they lady finally realized I had a NavyFed card and asked if I was military and said she would mark it in my chart that we are military..THe reason they dont ask is bc their not supposed too she said. All the people are nice but their prices SUCK! Military doesnt pay that well come on people cant be spending a lot. All in all I would NOT recomend this place to anyone! They charge way to much and the vets dont spend any time talking to you about your dog!!! I switched to RanchoMesa Vet..THEIR NICE CLEAN AND AFFORDABLE!!! DONT GO TO MOHNACKY!

I've taken my puppies to the Vista Mohnacky vet and I thought it was a good place but until my boyfriend and I realized that they are quick to charge you so much. I am an active military marine and you know some places ask you if your military or if they see your military id they give you military discount, well I had two visits there and never did they say oh your active duty you get this much percentage off, I found out from one of my friends that also takes there animals there. So I called and talked to one of the employees and the reason she gave me was oh we don't ask I'll annotate it in your chart for next time. My thing is why do I need to ask if I'm showing my military id, so that means they are there to get their money instead of helping pet owners save. My friend also had an incident with her husband getting the discount but not her which is really crazy. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND VISTA MOHNACKY VET, they are there to get your money.

I went to Mohnacky for years, and they were OK at first, but my bills kept going up and up (and up) until I couldn’t walk in the door without paying at least $1000. They suck you in with free vaccinations, and then charge you $500 - $700 for a dental cleaning. This place is a rip off, and the doctors are arrogant and mean, making you feel like a bad person for not having the resources to spend thousands of dollars on your pet. I finally got smart and started taking my animals to Banfield in Vista, where I pay a couple hundred dollars for a comprehensive health plan. I get a year of free visits - most routine x-Rays, blood work AND the dental cleanings are included! Dr. Donnelly at Banfield is kind, understanding and thorough. He explains everything, including the cost and the risks. I will never take my precious dogs anywhere else. Stay away from Mohnacky, they will rob you blind!

After experiences here with my own pets, feral cats and those of relatives, I have reached my end to any doubts that Mohnacky Hospital is NOT pro-active about the health of any of them.
In regards to the treatment of my own, it seemed that I had to remind the vet of symptoms that they seemed to be ignoring. No cultures taken, no tests, just prescribe an antibiotic right off the bat each time. For those whom may not realize, each time an antibiotic course is administered, the body becomes less responsive to it, an immunity to it builds. Therefore, prescribing it unnecessarily decreases the chances that the body can be helped by it and a different antibiotic must thereafter be used in the case of future illness.
Mohnacky staff has consistently performed in the same PRINCIPLE way that any mechanic will tell you is the WORST way to diagnose a car. That is, to just start replacing parts without paying thought to ALL symptoms. In each case, the animal did NOT get well soon and suffered

Went in for a $50 spay procedure and received the sales pitch from the doctor and nurses for flea medication and shots for an additional $70.

Great staff there - I've gone to the all 3 locations - vista, carlsbad, esco - BUT they're definitly in the biz to make money and their main goal is NOT to help pet owners help their pets but to charge as much as possible. I have had VERY bad experience with their pricing! One example is I had three kittens I took in for a simple cold. They charge a $36 manditory exam fee plus about $40 each in meds. About three days later my four other adult cats came down with the same cold. They are 100% indoor cats. Mohnacky wouldn't help me or let me buy any more meds for the remaining 4 cats unless I came in and paid the $36 exam fee EACH - and that didn't even include ANY MEDS!!! I mean COME ON GUYS! So I went to a different Vet named Pearson-Nespor in San Marcos and they perscribed me the meds WITHOUT even seeing the cats. They knew the cats had an URI Just like the kittens DUH - Wow can we say 100% difference! I will never go back to Mohnacky ever again - go to Pearson-Nespor - they are GREAT!
