Inside, the vet facilities are satisfactory. The real problem is with the vet that I had. She was fine in the beginning, but then became snarky and extremely unprofessional as time went on. It only got worse the more I would question her about something. It was as if she thought her DVM degree stood for Deity of Veterinary Medicine. I was looked at as being either stupid or silly for asking her things. Don’t be fooled by your initial impression. In fact, don’t even have one by staying far away from Pleasant Valley Animal Hospital. Oh yes, additionally, the one blond woman at the front desk is very unfriendly. In fact, it always felt as if she did her best to ignore my presence as much as possible. RID: 69938
11/3/10   1     1     2     1   My seven month old puppy went in to be neutured. They never advised me about blood work or problems with small breeds. He was a Yorkie, he was 6 pounds. I asked them directly during the initial visit if we had to do anything special for him. They said NO. HE had a heart attack on the table while being neutured. They called me to tell me I had to make a decision about putting him down. I went to get my dog and he was laying over a sink on a metal grate. He was blind, and could not hold his head up. I had to take him to another hospital because they said they could monitor him over night. NO ONE IS WITH THE PETS OVERNIGHT! I ended up spending 5 thousand dollars to try and save him. In the end we had to put him down. I URGE YOU TO TAKE YOUR PET SOMEWHERE ELSE.......They refused to pay the vet bills for the other vet. THEY WILL NOT BE ABLE TO CARE FOR YOUR PET IF THERE IS AN EMERGENCY. Please join me on facebook to raise awareness for spaying/neutering for small animals. barkloudformax RID: 20628
Click to report rating    7/22/08   1     1     1     1   A yr. ago I boarded my dog there for 5 days. I picked her up on Wed, by Sat. she was dead. She contracted a bacterial infection in her digestive system from dirty cages. When I called them immed. as she went downhill quickly, they scheduled me for an appt. 3 hrs. from the time of the emerg. call. I sat in the wait room, holding my dying dog, crying as they kept calling other customers for routine shots etc. They told me when they finally saw her that her condition was serious but not life threatening. They told me they were starting antibiotics right away, but she will need to be transported to Q.V.C. as they are not a 24 hr. care facility. I went back an hr. later, waited another hr.+ until Vet was done with his normal routine visits, only to find they never started the I.V. antibiotics. I took her to Q.V.C., and it was too late. She died within the hr. I wrote the owner, he called back to say he would look into it. Never heard from Putchat again. My baby was gone. Forever. RID: 9401
Click to report rating    7/1/07   1     1     1     1   Not only could they not give me directions from one block away because NO ONE knows the area. NTM, after we found the place (2 turns and a mile away) they tried telling us we missed the appt. They misdiagnosed my dog 3 times. She lost weight, had bloody diahrea, and severe earmits yet they claimed she was perfectly healthy. They lost my medical records, spelled all of our names and hers wrong and put in the incorrect age-WHEN IT WAS ON HER PAPERWORK FROM THE BREEDER!! DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET HERE! THE FACILITY IS NOT CLEAN! THE DOCTORS DO NOT KNOW WHAT THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT. If you'd like a vet who cares about his animals go to EMMAUS ANIMAL HOSP. 610-967-1512 they are incredible!! RID: 5022
Click to report rating    5/22/07   5     5     5     5   The staff and doctors are always very pleasant and helpful. They are not all about charging for every little thing. A new boarding facility was just added including radiant heat flooring, indoor and outdoor play areas, plastic enclosures for safety and a fish pond. With boarding they each get individual playtime everyday. The vet is an old updated farm in quakertown. All of the doctors are highly recommended. RID: 4045
