Had a litter of 8 puppies on February 6, all were healthy and had healthy birth weights. Had 1 puppy who wasn't puting on enough weight so Kipp Wingo recommended supplementing which we did for days. She was still not gaining enough per day so we took her back in on the 02/15 to be reevaluated. The vet suggested tube feeding and the tech administered the first feeding while teaching me how to administer feedings at home. Vet ordered 12cc's every 6 hours which I felt was odd because Pippa was only 7oz and always got full after about 5cc's. I told the tech this and she said to just give what he said anyway. By the time she had tubed 8cc's into Pippa she started crying and her stomach was ROCK hard, but she kept right on pushing. She gave her total of 10cc's before saying she couldn't push any more in. I was obviously worried and asked about her tummy and her crying, tech said no worries. Pippa cried all the way home and for the rest of the night before she died a few hours later..
