I took my dog here after she was diagnosed with a Mast Cell tumor in her leg and a tumor in her liver. Dr. Donna Jones told me I would have to amputate her leg and go through chemo to get another 4-6 months. I also got a $13,000 estimate for all of the treatments. I got a second opinion from an oncologist. I was told that radiation for the tumor on her leg had an 85-95% cure rate and that chemo was not effective on liver cancer. Why wasn't I told about radiation and why did they recommend an expensive and ineffective chemo treatment? Could it be because they didn't have a radiation machine? Why would they want me to pay $13,000 for chemo that was useless on my dog's cancer? Either they didn't know the best treatments for the types of cancer my dog had, or they know, did but didn't want my $$$$ going to another facility. I did find a facility that used radiation on my dog's leg. The cancer never came back. I treated her liver cancer with homeopathy. We got another 2 1/2 years

Money was a bit too much a concern, but other than that I would return in an emergency situation. The Vet that I dealt with after the life saving surgery had a great manner. True, it was 3 in the morning, but she sat with me a long time explaining everything that had happened. and while it was expensive, they released my dog a day earlier than anticipated and at a total cost less than what had been estimated.

I have a friend who took her 18 year old cat(Sasha I wish you peace in death) who was stiff & cold. They put her on life support. She was in kidney failure. They gave her false hope that Sasha would be going home happy. They racked her bill up to the thousands. When she realized best case was 2-3 months she opted to end Sashas pain. All they cared about in the end as my frend was holding Sashas lifeless remains was where there money was. I demand any vet I see to have compassion above all.

I had a cat seen here, I should say best buddy seen at this facility. They treated him miserably with very little respect. In addition the vet dxd him with cancer (though only 1 blood test had been run) and attempted to force us into Chemo, continued to tell us he would die within 5 weeks if we did not and she couldn't believe we wanted to know about other options. We left, and under great home care, and NO chemo, kitty lived 9 months. They are not sensitive to people or animals and need to treat pets like family instead of money makers.

Dr. Ford, Dr. Mullen, and Dr. Stokkie are incredible specialists with great hearts. They really know what they are doing and they truly care about their patients. It is too bad they are running out of such an unorganized, non- proffessional facility. The interns that are supposed to be there support need lessons in how to treat a customer, and I know of a few who do not deserve to graduate. It is very unfortunate because I feel these specialists deserve alot more credit than they are getting, but the company they are working for are bringing their reputation down.

I am affiliated with cat rescue. I rescued a litter of six, as well as the mama cat, from my daughter's high school campus. One of my cats is experiencing crystals and after three trips to my vet, it has been determined he needs to have PU surgery. That said, last night I took him to VCA because he was not eating, vomiting, and was very weak. Upon arrival at the front desk, the questions began: how will you pay for this, you can apply for a special credit card, etc., tis after I told them I was unemployed, have been through an entire year of six hospitalizations of our daughter at Children's Hospital of San Diego (another sad situation), had lost my lease vehicle, and filed bankruptcy. The staff was extremely cold towards me and acted as if I had made the entire story up. By the time I left there I was, literally, in tears. I would not recommend this clinic to anyone unless you have money because "money talks".

My 9-year-old Persian was diagnosed with PKD through ultrasound at VCA (after spending almost $4000 in care there). The staff told me her kidneys were showing up as somewhat abnormal but it may be a res. of the toxicity she had experienced. A vet. outside of VCA told me she, in fact, had PKD after reading VCA's notes. I understand they have a lot of interns at VCA, and they are terribly overpriced (will not even see your animal unless you place down a lump sum). I would never go there again!

I had an ok 1st & hopefully last visit with this vet. My baby girl had to be put down because a transfusion was all that we could do to save her. Although they let me ball my eyes out, just after the procedure a staff mbr came in toask if I wanted a lock of hair? (No, I want my baby back!) That question could have waited a few more minutes. Overall it was ok. They are very high priced.
