I wish I could give them a better review because their technicians and front desk staff are very friendly, but the veterinary care received by my dog was horrendous. They over charge and over treat to the detriment of both the animal and their caretakers. I had another veterinary professional look at my care plan and bill with me and they were horrified by the number of unnecessary procedures done. You can't even say that "good care costs more" because the over treating of animals is not good care!

I have had pets for quite a while. I want to keep my animals happy and healthy, but when I visited Dr. Luce and Aldie I was very unhappy. I brought a cat in for a bladder blockage and I was charged $1,288 for a bladder drain and anitboitics. When I informed Dr. Luce I couldn't afford it at the moment he told me to take him someplace else. The prices are insane and they do expensive procedures and tests without the owners consent. They do care about the health of the pet, but they care more about money. As soon as I can find a vet with better prices I am going there.

My regular vet actually suggested I see Aldie Vet to try and keep my costs down on a surgery my dog needed on his leg. I met with Dr. Luce and felt that I was not compromising quality at all, but his price was better than the referral I went to first. Dr. Luce has done a lot of these surgeries and gave me a bunch of references. My dog is like my child so I wanted the best, and I got it! Dr. Luce was so great, he even called over the weekend to follow up with me. Since South Riding is completely out of my way, I will use Aldie Vet for special services, but if I lived in the area, I'd definately recommend them for any veterinary service.

I disagree with the poor review for this hospital. I have to say my experiences have been stellar, otherwise I would not have been bringing my pets here for 10 years. I do agree they are more than what you would find at a discount place, but you get what you pay for. The grass is not greener on the other side, I know this first hand as I tried a less expensive vet and found I paid even more money because no one could get my lab's ear infection cleared up. I went back to Dr. Luce and within two weeks the ears were finally cleared up. Dr. Luce even called me several times to see how the treatment was going. Dr. Luce always explains everything in detail, always provides an estimate of what my costs may be and always spends time to answer my questions. I highly recommend Aldie Vet.

This place completely overcharges you. My dog had a bout of diarhea and I walked out of there with a 350 dollar bill and he still wasn't fixed.. Went to Pender and 150 dollars later, was good as new.
