Click to report rating    1/27/13   3     3     3     1   Out of NEED we had to visit this vet being new to the area we didn't know any better. first visit went ok Dr. was ok did some tests and a check on our dog. When we got the results we were told our dog was very sick, she had lymes disease and end stage kidney failure and we had to bring urine samples weekly. we took her for a second opinion because she acted fine. Took her to another vet and was told she was fine NO lymes NO kidney disease and NO crystals in her urine. Dr. Habel charged us over 700.00 to treat a healthy dog almost 2 years later our dog is fine & healthy. Only go there if you can't find a witch dr. or an old wino somewhere cause you'd get better care from them.Sure do wish i got my money back from this crook! RID: 39956
Click to report rating    9/14/10   5     5     5     5   Obviously you did not consider all of the implications of the procedures. If the guilty party is found, that is, the person who poisoned your animal, then that personal will be financially responsible for the costs you incurred. Better be safe than sorry, Miss Malcontent!!! Hopefully, the person or persons responsible for hurting your animal will be apprehended by law enforcement authorities and will be forced to pay double or triple the amount that you had to pay. I read in the paper that in Stokes County, for instance, County Commissioners are considering increasing current civil fines considerably. People who abuse animals should not be tolerated. I would hang tight and see what happens........Just some friendly advice. RID: 19725
Click to report rating    9/14/10   3     4     3     1   I was misled about the cost of tests/services by Patrick County Animal Clinic. My first experience there this year led to an overcharge for the application of Frontline; the clinician told me my dog was a medium-sized dog, and then proceeded to charge me for a "large breed." On my second visit, I specifically asked that my costs be kept to an absolute minimum due to my current state of unemployment and was unknowingly charged over a hundred dollars more than anticipated. I needed a mere urine analysis and ended up paying almost $270.00 for this simple test. I am outraged that I was charged so much, but more outraged that I essentially begged to keep my costs at a minimum, only to be surprised to hear over the phone that I had incurred an almost $300.00 charge. My recommendation would be.....take your pet elsewhere, or DEMAND to know the cost of each and every service/test performed BEFORE it is done. I feel gypped and misled by Dr. Hable and his staff and do not intend to return. RID: 19724
Click to report rating    12/6/09   5     5     4     5   Very caring and compassionate Vet. and staff. Willing to do whatever it takes to help the animals. I would HIGHLY recommend them. I use them even though there are Vets. offices closer to my home. They have stayed late with an emergency C-section for one of my pets and saved Mom and all the babies. Have assisted with an emergency during off hours...The list goes on. RID: 15637
