I moved to VA & brought paperwork from my previous vet. I told them what vaccines my dogs needed & was told they would decide what vaccines my dogs needed. When we went in the room for the appointment, the vet tech had one of my dogs only listed for one shot. I said no I am here for all of her yearly shots & listed off what shots I wanted her to have. The vet tech told me but she is not due for those shots for 3 weeks, come back in 3 weeks to get those. I stated that I wanted her to get the shots today. Why should I come back in 3 weeks & pay another office visit to get a shot. I ask for a nasal vaccine & was told that because I was new to the practice my dogs could not get the nasal vaccine, they had to get the injection version. I had their records showing they had previous gotten the nasal vaccine. They refused to give my dogs the Lyme Disease vaccine because it was their first visit. They did not ask if I needed heartworm meds & when I order online they refused to ok the meds. $$$$

Horrible follow up from Dr. Have dog with diabetes, has been losing weight for 9 months while in her care. Dr was going to find out about alternative diets and call me - NEVER called. I went in, she said she hadn't heard back from the dietician but would call me soon. Week later - NO CALL still. She never followed up, she never called - just forgot me and my dog exsisted. I haven't been there for 6 weeks - I found a different vet - she still has never called to either see how my dog is, tell me about the diet, nothing.I think her knowledge is weak in the area, and instead of suggesting a different doctor or asking for consultation, she completely blew off me and my dog. VERY POOR. Soent a lot of money there for care, was up there every week - how can she forget about my dog? I am going to forget about them. For nornal routine things, good vet. Anything needing a real doctor, she is the worst. Dr Piccard.

I love going to CAH! The vets listen to me and explain things in terms that I understand. I never feel pressured to do something I'm not sure about. I think they genuinely enjoy seeing everyone, they always remember me when I come in! The doctor even remembered our last conversation about work! It's a great relationship, and I truly feel cared about. The LVTs are very patient with my feisty cat, and that's a hard thing to do.... he's a pistol! I've worked in doctors offices and being a receptionist is the hardest job, so the other poor ratings are probably due to misunderstandings with the front desk staff. It's not a well appreciated job!

My dog comes to CAH on a regular basis for day boarding and she's always been very excited to come! Everyone knows her and are always glad to see her. When I pick her up she is always happy to go home but never in a big hurry, she's always clean and in good spirits. I also have a cat that visits regularly because of his medical problems and would probably be dead without the doctors and staff at this facility! The doctors take time to find me different solutions that best fit me and my cats lives. I have had pets my whole life and I've never been happier with a vet hospital! They are a great group of people who obviously care greatly for all animals.

Without a doubt the most wonderful place I've ever been to. I would trust them with any of my animals, and have for the last 20 years. The facility is expanding to meet the client and patient care needs. The staff always has your pet and you in mind. pricey, but worth EVERY penny. The doctors have always explained all my options and their recommendations have always been fair and the best for my pets. They are always willing to talk to you and answer your questions!
