Shaffer is one of the worst veterinarian clinics in the northeast Orlando metropolitan area in my experience due to 1) upcharging for lots of unnecessary services until you question them, 2) Poor ethics for recommending solutions for problems that don't even exist (pulling teeth during spay/neuter...what??) and recommending crappy Science Diet dog food over your organic grain-free top shelf highly rated kibble because they get a kick back $ from Hill's brand, 3) Inexperienced vets: they hire kids from vet school because they are cheap, but they are arrogant and repeat their coursework verbatim (they didn't even weigh my dog right, then argued with me about it). If you care about your beloved pet, choose a vet that values ethical business practices over profits.

My puppy passed when with proper diagnosis and more aggressive treatment he may still be here. They were not able to diagnose after him being there an entire day. They sent him home with us when he was not eating or drinking and had a 104 fever, he was also laboring hard to breathe. I spent all night with him and watched him slowly die. It was horrible. However, they had no problem hitting us with a huge bill, and the audacity to charge us a full day of hospital treatment the next day when they were only opened for half a day! They failed miserably in many categories, and now I am left with just questions and sorrow.

I have a dog that tends to bite when under stress, and they didn't listen to me when I told them that. I told them to wait until the vet was in the room before holding the dog or getting him on the table. To make matters worst, they technician went out of the room after agitating my dog and came back with 2 more ppl. I know their safety is a priority, but they should have listen to me and follow my suggestions, instead of doing things the same way they are used to with a regular pet.
