I am a first time dog owner and had lots of questions. Dr. Estra spent alot of time with me, answered all my questions and even spent more time with me on the phone a few days later when I had more questions. I felt real well informed about how to take care of my new puppy. Not just all the vet stuff but even things like how to housebreak her and training things. The office was cleaner than my own doctors office. The assistants were real helpful and really nice. I really felt like they cared about me and my dog. They have a pretty fun Facebook page and some neat pictures on their website. I'm not sure why people think they're expensive because they charge the same as everyone else. I'd pay double to get great care like that for my dog.

Rates for routine services are very expensive and I often felt the vet was trying to schedule unnecessary visits to increase her profits. Also, I was unhappy with the way the vet spoke to us, feeling as if everything I was doing was wrong. I am experienced in raising dogs but I feel she assumed I knew nothing because of my age. She even went so far as to say my puppy has "emotional problems" because she was shy to the vet. Our puppy is the friendliest, most well adjusted dog I've owned so far so I felt insulted by this. The vet would often give conflicting information such as the need to shelter the puppy from all other dogs due to disease risk but the need for the dog to be socialized. We are currently searching for another vet.

I never knew how great a veterinary hospital could be until I went to Canterbury Animal Hospital. My friends had told me about it. Too bad it took me so long to switch! My pets were missing out on great vet care! Super nice staff, clean hospital, great follow up and concern for my cats and dogs. They treated me like I had been a client there for years! They even called me to tell me they were running a little behind because they had an emergency and asked me if I could either come in later or would I rather reschedule. How great is that? Dr. Estra spent alot of time with me and my cat. I am looking forward to bringing the rest of my animals in. Wish I had listened to my friends and changed to Canterbury sooner.

Wow! This place is AWESOME! Super friendly staff, clean office, late night and Saturday appointments! I've taken both my cats and my dog to Dr. Estra and she spent more time with them than my own doctor does with me! I didn't feel rushed and I had lots of questions (I have a cat with kidney disease)! I wish I had found them sooner. They even called a few days after my visit to see how my cat was doing! And then called again a month later to see if she was still doing okay. I'm so glad I found Canterbury because I finally feel like someone has paid attention to my cats and dogs needs instead of trying to rush me out of the door and move on to the next appointment. I don't know why people said they were expensive. They were cheaper than my other vet in Delmar and they were way, way better! Bring your animals to Canterbury!

Canterbury Animal Hospital is great! The Staff are friendly, compassionate and really care about your family pet. I found the services provided a great value and the hospital very clean and inviting.

Rates were outrageous. At least double what other vets are charging. We were also scheduled multiple visits for what could have been done at one visit so we could be re-charged for the consult fee. We also experienced a recommendation for unnecessary and expensive dental surgery. We were told that our healthy puppy should have 2 of her main her teeth pulled! The only reason there is very little wait time is because they barely have any customers which is understandable with their rates and the way they treat clients.

I took my cat to Canterbury last week with an emergency. I wasn't a client there and my regular vet couldn't see me until next week. Canterbury squeezed me in right away and treated me like I had been a client there forever. They even called today to see how my cat was doing! My cat is doing great! I'm having my cat's records sent to Canterbury today!

Personalized, individual attention. I felt like my cat was the only pet they were seeing that day. My cat was very sick and they took great care of her. They called the next day to see how she was doing - they really cared about how my cat was! Everyone was really friendly - reception, the technicians, the vet. Really convenient hours including Saturdays. I wish I had found Canterbury sooner!

Cost estimates for procedures were ambiguous. At least one staff member/receptionist was extremely rude.

We took our cat in for an eye problem. The vet did not spend any time on our cat's eyes, but immediately started recommended expensive dental procedures. We agreed to treat them as soon as possible provided they could give us a cost estimate. Dr. Estra told us she would contact us with an estimate. She did not. My husband called the office and requested an estimate. The receptionist said she would get right back to him. She did not. We called again and the best they could give was a ballpark figure and said there is "really no way to tell until we get in there". It reminded me of taking my car in to be serviced. We are disappointed. The practice looked like it would be very customer friendly (they even post pictures of their patients on their website).

Dr. Estra and her staff are beyond wonderful - we have always been taken in as soon as we arrive (no waiting with anxious animals!) and are given upmost care and attention. Really a super experience everytime...

Dr. Estra is probably one of the best veterinarians out there. She will take all the time the client needs to discuss treatment and give you all available options. The facility is top notch, staff is helpful and polite. I can't say enough good things about this clinic. This clinic may not be the cheapest out there but it definately gives you the most bang for your buck!
