J. Scott Hemenway, came to my home and assaulted me claiming I owe his company for vet services.
He is the vet we have owed almost 1000$ to for about three years. We have been paying him off bit buy bit, and got the bill down to just under $360.
I had called and asked if I could come down and pay $300 to pay off the debt and was told yes. I continued to get billed, but would return them RETURN TO SENDERMr. Hemenway came to my home and on my doorstep took his bill Ishoved it into my chest and screamed at me that there was something wrong with my mail service. I was terrified. I had no idea if this man had a weapon.
I am in fear of this man, and I have every reason to believe if he would drive from Palm Bay to my home in Melbourne with the intent to do what he did, it is reasonable to question any of his behavior.
I swore out a complaint with the sheriff's department.

This Dr. Hemingway has no bedside manor, is rude and only cares about $$. Do not use this vet in the end you will regret it.

Kitten:
Runny nose
Crud in eye
Soft stool
Vomit
ONLY 9 weeks 1.5 pounds
Dr. Hemenway exam:
NO magnifying instrument
Run finger over ear, don’t open & look inside
Pick up, quick look
Fluff hair
Put on ground
Ask if he always shakes, NO he’s just SCARED
Blindly go through motion of exam
After ‘exam’ say:
There’s NO way of telling whats wrong w/out tests
I’ll get an estimate ready
(LOOK SAD) If we dont find out whats wrong it could be REAL BAD
Leave fast
Estimate OUTRAGEOUS:
6 blood work tests
X-rays
scaring w/dehydration, stomach blockage
I chose conservative treatment they made me feel worse “he's SO small & can dehydrate SO quickly”
3 TINY pills $19
Bland diet $2 each can
$21 to ‘collect’ stool I BROUGHT
SEPERATE charge to test stool
I asked why NO antibiotics Nurse said because he isn’t sick. I asked why they think he isn’t sick w/runny nose, crud in eye, soft bowel & VOMITED. She said he doesn’t have a fever. ARE YOU KIDDING ME! DON’T GO TO THIS VET

Wait was LONG to get in even with an appt. They did not listen to what I was trying to say about the animal. They offered many unnecessary tests. They misdiagnosed my dog and the bill was outrageous!

The staff here is caring and the facility has the newest technology to do proper diagnostics. They are a tad bit more expensive because they practice the same quality of medicine as on humans, even for surgical procedures. I would never take my dogs anywhere else. They are fantastic!

The doctors were running behind when I went there with my dog, but that was because there was an emergency that just came though the door. Staff was polite and knowledgable. I know they are not the cheapest, but they do more than your average clinic for proper diagnosis, which is worth a lot more than having to go back time and time again. I highly recommend Minton Animal Hospaital to anyone who wants to take quality care of their pet.

might be overpriced. Another vet charged half the price for a dental. Different dog and smaller. Wonder about the difference.
