My wife and I brought our 12 yr old tabby to Dr. Lystrup because we were a little concerned about a cough that would occur now and then and a small growth on his left front quarter. Dr. Lystrup asked us if we would like to give him another rabies vaccine since his current one was alomst expired. We both had a strong feeling that it would not be a good idea to further compromise his health with vaccines until we resolved the current issue. Our rejections were dismissed and the rabies vaccine was administered anyway. His respirations became dangerously high (72-104 per min., ideal is no more than 30 per min.). As noted in our aftercare directions we called for help when his respiratory distress did not let up, each time we were dismissed and our phone calls remained unreturned. We finally took Toby to another clinic where we learned that it clearly states on the rabies vaccines directions to NEVER ADMINISTER TO ANIMALS IN UNSTABLE CONDITIONS. He never improved, we lost him 3 wks late
