Have been taking different pets (budgie, duck and several cats) to Doc Lewis over the past 35 years and can honestly say that I have always returned my pets to his care after trying out other Vets in the area. As a nurse Practitioner I value quality health care for my pets more than a fancy clinic and extensive (often unnecessary) tests. Doc Lewis provides compassionate care without charging exorbitant rates. Don't expect new looking facilities - expect functional facilities that reflect the years of experience he provides. You can also expect to be provided with a lot of education about how to care for your pet while it is sick (and for when it gets well). He is always willing to take the time to make you feel confident in your ability to care for your pet at home rather than placing it a cage in the back room for unnecessary and expensive treatments. Nothing fancy ... Just quality care you can count on.

I have been taking both of my dogs to the clinic for 2 years now & have never had trouble that I knew about until today. I am trying to get heartworm & flea preventative meds for my dogs from petmeds.com because the flea medicine that the clinic prescribes is not working. The doctors are now telling me that my 2 1/2 year old dog needs a heartworm test every 2 years and has never been given one & therefore they can not authorize the medication. It is only 2 days before the meds are to be given and we just took her in for her annual checkup 2 months ago. I now feel that the doctors are not giving my dogs the best care because they should have made me aware that she needed to be tested 2 months ago not 2 days before her meds are due. I will be switching vets to a professional who can keep up with their records.

I have used both Dr Bayouth and Dr Heeb over the last 8 years and been very pleased with both of them. Their after hours care helped me find a local emergency center when I was traveling with my pet. They are good about letting you know what all the options are in your pets care and suggesting one course of treatment but making sure you know about other options.
