It was my first visit with Dr Farris to have my dog shots done. Upon the visit I explained that my dog was not use to other people outside of my family. When Dr Farris approached my dog he backed away and growled. At which time, I advised Dr Farris to use a muzzle because I knew my dog was afraid and I didnt want him to react to that fear. Upon putting on the muzzle my dog growled and it startled Dr Farris because he kicked my dog as hard as he could and yelled at me about my dogs behavior. I immediately advised him as a professional he was out of order by reacting to my dog in this manner. My dog had no intensions of hurting him because if he had he would have bitten once kicked by Dr Farris. I feel as a long term veternarian this is not the appropriate way to handle a situation such as this. I would not recommend anyone using his services for their pets.

I used Dr. Farris for 5 years. He was never friendly. That's not what bothered me. When he had to have our pomeranian put to sleep he was very uncaring. He was rushing us to make a decision about putting her down or not because he had another patient waiting. His exact words were "I have to muzzle her because if she bites me at this point she'll get her head chopped off and it'll be sent to a lab to test for rabies" AND he said "I'll box her up for you so she doesn't crap all over your car". I recommend Dr. Farris to everyone I knew until this happened. My aunt also had her dachshund neutered by him and he forgot a testicle inside him and he almost died. He needed a second surgery from a different vet to have the forgotten testicle removed. DO NOT use this vet.
