My senior dog was having an incontinence problem. They gave her antibiotics for a UTI, which didn't help the incontinence. Then they diagnosed her with hypothyroidism and gave her meds for that--which also didn't do anything about her incontinence. The third time we took her back, they told us they would have to do an ultrasound (or something like that) which would be several hundred dollars. We took her to another vet for a second opinion. They put her on senior doggy estrogen meds for female dogs (which the meds only cost $18), and she is 75% better already. Suburban is just too much for our wallet.

I too found the front desk staff to be rude, and also a little incompetent. My dog had 6 teeth pulled and the label of the painkillers said to start giving them on Friday. The teeth were pulled on a Wednesday. So I called the office and explained the situation. The girl who answered snapped at me to start them on Friday. I protested and she grudgingly put the vet on the phone, who confessed that she meant to put Wednesday, not Friday. Had I followed the directions my poor dog would have been in pain for two days!
They sent us a bill a month after we paid our almost $400 bill "in full" that same day saying they made a mistake in billing and that we owed them $100 more. I sent them a letter telling them that it was hypocritical to expect payment in full on the day of service and then to come back to us asking us for more money. They threatened to call a collection agency....over $100! We paid, but I'm seriously thinking about changing vets.

I found the front desk to be rude and uncaring. When calling to check on the condition of my very sick pet, they would make comments pertaining to the importance of my call and that I would be contacted if need be. The Vet techs in the back were very good. The quality of care on two occassions was extremely bad pertaining to the veterinarians, Dr. Gary Schrader and another staff vet.
