Click to report rating    12/3/13   5     5     5     5   I have been taking my dog to EVF from the 1st day I got him, that was 6 years ago. He looks forward to visiting Dr. Bob & Dr. Bev as well as all of the staff. As most of his visits have been to see Dr. Bob or Dr. Bev who are awesome, so are the other Drs. that he has seen on occasion. But I must admit Dr. Bob & Bev are definitely his favourites and mine too. The receptionists, lab technicians are all friendly, courteous and make me and my dog feel very welcome. The professionalism of this facility is outstanding and cost is not their prime goal. My son takes his dog to another facility in this area and the first thing they do is quote how much it is going to cost for whatever could/is required and ask how you will be paying. I feel me and my dog are very lucky to be clients of Eglinton Veterinary Facilities and I always recommend them to anyone looking for Vet Services. Keep up the fabulous service EVF. RID: 48567
Click to report rating    5/8/13   5     5     5     4   This is a great vet clinic. Have been going here for 3 years now as it was referenced to me by many other pet owners. Dr. Bob and Dr. Bev Bateman are wonderful and caring. They will take phone calls and call you back with assistance if you need it. Many times I have called and they have assessed the situation over the phone and have not asked me to come in. This has saved me some money considering my old vet would charge for calls and always would tell me to bring my cat in to be examined. They never offer treatment unless necessary, in fact many times they will monitor the situation or offer different kinds of treatment (holistic) instead of trying to do multiple tests. Even when one of my cats are sick the vet will call a few days later to check up on how he/she is doing because the vets are actually concerned. Overall it is great, sometimes it can be expensive but all clinics are, owning a pet is expensive and people should know that before they adopt one. RID: 42355
Click to report rating    12/30/12   5     4     5     4   This is for sure a great vet facility! I am extremely happy with the service. I originally came in for a rabies vaccine and the service was great- They really seemed like they cared about my dog. The first thing the vet asked about was how he was doing (eating properly?, how is he sleeping? etc.-general questions) which made me very comfortable and I could ask all the questions without feeling rushed . I also had him neutered and they removed some loose baby teeth without any extra cost. I am always helped right away when I show up and was never charged for anything I didn't ask for. They have given suggestions to give him additional vaccines and have small other services done, but as soon as I tell them that I will think about it, they don't continue to force me. He was also given a complimentary nail trim. The only negative thing I can say is that the rooms seem a little outdated. They are however functional still and I am sure my dog doesn't care about the color paint on the walls. RID: 39317
Click to report rating    11/6/12   4     4     4     4   I had very good experiences at this clinic for the two years I lived nearby, and I've had a hard time finding a vet I like as much where I live now. My dog had testicular cancer, and through the initital appointments, testing and surgery, Dr Paul was helpful, common sense and comforting. Also the charges were much less than what I was quoted by other vets, and my dog came through it with flying colors. If only there were a vet this good for us now that we've moved to Oakvile. Click to report rating    4/14/12   1     4     3     3   The vets are great, but the front desk staff - watch out! Either they're painfully overworked or the place systematically hires staff that hate animals and their owners. Despite the great vets, I will be looking for a new one because the front desk staff makes it such an unpleasant experience. RID: 33539
Click to report rating    3/9/12   5     5     5     5   Have used this clinic for over 25 yrs and remain very satisfied. Although there have been recent changes, I find the staff caring and working in the best interest of their clients. The staff was very supportive recently when my aged dog had to be put to sleep. Click to report rating    2/27/12   5     5     5     5   I have been a client of Eglinton Vet Facilities for many years, so have seen several changes...and have only the highest praise for the staff. The primary caregiver for my cats is Dr Bob Watson (aka "Dr Doolittle"), but recently whilst he was on vacation,my 11 year old cat became sick and Dr Bev Bateman & Dr Jen Hodges took care of him. Although the end result was very distressing, these 2 ladies showed great compassion and concern for both my "boy" and myself, and following his death, their phone calls of support were greatly appreciated. Since then, we have discovered that my remaining cat has developed kidney disease...and Dr Bev again has shown great care & concern. I thoroughly recommend this veterinary facility. RID: 32500
Click to report rating    12/5/11   5     5     5     5   This is a heartfelt to thanks to all staff at Eglinton Veterinary Facilities for the wonderful care that my dog has received over the years. I have been living in Whitby now for more than 3 years. Because I have been so happy with the care Bella has received at Eglinton Vet, I have been reluctant to move her to a local vet, but have decided with a heavy heart that the time has come. I will miss the wonderful staff at Eglinton Vet, and am especially grateful to Dr. Paul, who has been so involved in her care most recently. If I ever move back to Toronto, you know where I will want to take my pets for care, because I have been so impressed with everyone at your clinic, from the front desk staff, to vet techs, ACAs, and of course the amazing and supportive veterinarians. Click to report rating    11/25/11   5     5     5     5   I have been a client of this clinic for several years. The veterinarians and staff at this clinic are awesome. They take the responsibility of caring for my animals' health very seriously. Not only do they have a good "bedside" manner with me and my pets, but they also are willing to tell me what the best possible route of care for them would be. This is sometimes difficult, because unlike our own health care, procedures and treatments for pets can be expensive and we all have our limits financially. However, knowing what is available is important. You wouldn't want a doctor not to offer you the very best possible treatment because he assumed you couldn't afford it, why would you want something different for your pets? In the end if you choose to decline a recommendation from the veterinarian, that's your choice, but you can't blame the vet, if there is a negative outcome when they weren't given the chance to prevent it.      11/5/11   1     1     1     1   Brought my dog for bladder stones removal, the operation was lousy, not they didn't remove all the stones, they also caused a lot infection as well. When we brought the dog back repeatly because his condition getting worse everyday, they clamis that everything is fine and it just takes time to recovery, they even admit my dog for three nights and didn't do nothing to find out what is going with him. We finally brought the dog to another hosptail and they found the infections all over his body and had operation right away before it is too late. ( two operations for my dog within 3 weeks). Eglinton Veterinary Facilities almost killed my dog and still charge me almost $4000!!! The doctor there are arrogant and won't admit he did something wrong even he knows he did. PLEASE DO NOT BRING YOUR PETS THERE, it will just make the matter worse!!! I have gone through the hell with them and I don't want to anybody else goes throught the same thing like I did. RID: 28863
Click to report rating    9/5/11   3     3     4     4   I have been a client at Eglinton Vet Facilities for several years and have been extremely happy until now. Dr. Bob Watson is still the best but things has changed there. Most of the old staff are gone and with them went everything that made that place special. In particular, one opinionated older one who can be very abrupt at times. She doen't seem to see anything wrong in discussing your situation in front of other clients. Especially if it is money related, and includes a verbal 'scolding'. A couple of others have icy exteriors. A few of my friends that I have referred to them in the past, stated that they are now considering looking elsewhere . It seems that the almighty dollar rules. If you don't have the total amount available, you can forget coming in until you do. I will remain with them until Dr. Watson leaves, then I too will be looking elsewhere. RID: 27388

4/11/11   5     4     5     3   Finding a good vet is like finding a good dentist. In the end it's all about the $$. But a good bedside manner is important too. I've had very positive experiences here and not so much. Dr. Bob is awesome, very attentive and caring...and my animals are comfortable around him. He didn't try to sell me a treatment that was, in the end, not going to benefit my animal. However, there was another vet there, a woman, who saw my cat a couple of times and first time, when my girl developed a limp, the vet practically accused me of abuse! The cat was, btw, 15 and it turned out to be arthritis. Then when I brought a new cat (adopted a 3 y/o from THS) in for grooming, she called me and scolded me for having an overweight cat, granted she was and still is overweight. Other than this one vet, I've always found it relatively easy to make an appt and the staff are friendly. It is a bit pricier, but if you find a vet you trust, it's worth it in the end. RID: 24290
Click to report rating    1/12/11   1     2     3     1   I went to this vet initially due to an eye splinter in one of my pups (it was closer than my normal vet and it was more of an emergency. The recepitionist (Melissa) told me I would have to wait until the afternoon as there were no appointments (although it was quite evident that there was an emergency situation with the dog). I said I would wait until the afternoon in the lobby area. After that I was in to see Dr. Bob Watson in 5 minutes. I was pretty happy with the attention and Clarity Bob gave regarding the situation and his follow up (This could have been due to me having three pups all under 2 years of age as well and the possibility of future business). The next time I visitted the clinic was due to my dog eating an entire sock and carpetting. When I took the dog in, it was clear that he was very sick. Again, I was told no appointments (although my dog was almost lifeless!). Again, I indicated I would sit and wait and was miraciously seen by Dr. Watson within 5 minutes. RID: 21984
Click to report rating    10/2/10   1     4     1     1   The worst clinic I have ever had. All they cared about was charging me for more money without even caring what the problem was. I will never step there again. When I asked the Vet to help me find a limb he said that it is not his job. RID: 20039
Click to report rating    2/5/09   2     2     3     3   I brought my cat in with a limp. The vet took an xray and I was told that there was nothing remarkable and he couldn't see any reason for the limping. A few months afterwards when my cat was brought to another clinic with something unrelated did that vet take an xray of the right body part and tell me my cat had severe arthritis in her knees which is why she was limping so badly. These guys are not the best. RID: 11490
Click to report rating    5/8/08   5     5     5     5   Exceptional service and very caring staff. The vets are extremely knowledgeable and go out of their way to help your pet, to keep you updated, and to make sure you have all the information necessary to make informed decisions about your pet's health. They are definitely not in this business just for the money. I would recommend this facility 100%. RID: 8414
Click to report rating    6/11/07   5     5     5     5   This place is amazing. When our puppy got sick two days after being home we had not picked out a vet yet. On a crap shoot we went with the first vet in our area that could take us. We count our blessing that we ended up at Eglinton vet. Our puppy was deathly ill. We were beside ourselves that our new love could very easily die, and distraught over the amount it would cost to save her. Not only did Eglinton Vet save our puppy's life, they have reasonable prices and were kind enough to put us on a payment plan. This is because Eglinton vet doesn't charge for a bunch of stuff you don't need. Not only are the prices amazing, and the staff extremely knowledgeable, they are also kind and helpful. I truly felt that they loved my puppy as much as I did and weren't just after my money. I have never been disappointed by this practice since and HIGHLY recommend this practice. RID: 4487
