Click to report rating    6/26/17   2     4     3     1   My dog was diagnosed with a UTI Friday by my regular vet, who catheterized him on a Friday and told me to bring him to E.R. if he couldn't pee over the weekend. That indeed happened on Saturday and I took him here, only to be quoted "$1500-1900" by Dr. Shedd for a 1 night stay, x-rays, ultrasound, bloodwork, urinalysis, and what I felt to be unnecessary tests given that my own vet administered these the previous day. I paid the $80 office fee and took my dog to the ER vet in Bessemer, Dr. Okin, who charged about $530 for a 1 night stay, without administering the redundant tests. The receptionist/vet tech at this Trussville clinic was very polite, but Dr. Shedd was unprofessional, uncompassionate, and even rolled his eyes at me when I was telling him all the symptoms--like I was boring him. He introduced himself as Dr. Shedd but only referred to me by my first name, which I also did not appreciate and felt was unprofessional. Will not take my pets here again. RID: 64021

5/11/17   1     1     1     1   This review is for Trussville office! We took out 8 week old Yorkie in, unfortunately he was stepped on. He was yelping in pain, bleeding from the mouth but staff here said he was stable and we would have to wait our turn. I kept asking them to see him, I freaked out with the yelping, it hurt me so bad to see him in pain. The girl that was an aide, nurse, not sure but she loudly told the vet I was having a meltdown and mocked me. We waited about an hour with that precious baby in pain before they saw him. They took him back, he continuously yelped, came out about 20 minutes later and said unfortunately he died. The question will always haunt me: would he have lived if they had seen him immediately? I don't know. NO compassion. That puppy was hurting but they didn't touch him, wouldn't touch him without $710. Where is the love for animals? Please, please, don't take your pets there. Not if you care about them. RID: 63603
