Compassion, compassion, compassion. Even during these trying COVID times each and every doctor, tech and staff member has shown great concern for my dog when she had to have emergency surgery. All of the Doctors were involved in my dogs care, consulting with one another and going over results etc, and none stopped until we had answers and together we devised a plan of action. Would never take my dogs anywhere else.

Terrible, terrible clinic.
Overcharges, alter rates discussed earlier, terrible customer service (very rude and hangs up on clients), tried to speak with the vets, was told was to busy and not willing to speak to me. For excitable animals, Did not even offer a alternative or a take home sedative that I found out was available from other veterinarians. Seems to be only concerned about charging outrageous rates. Decided to finally do some research on other experiences this clinic has had with other folks, to find out that on other platforms, they have terrible ratings. Eg. Yelp. Be aware of Tammy in reception, will talk over you, will not give you a chance to speak, be very rude and will hang up on you. This is my recent personal experience with her. After choosing not to see my dog and telling me to find another vet, I asked for his clinical notes to give to another vet. They said they couldn’t give me his notes and hung up again. VERY rude.

This clinic has saved several of my dogs' lives from obscure, sometimes rare illnesses. When they don't know about something, they research until they do. They always offer me options and are up front about costs. I feel completely safe leaving my pets with the entire staff. Dr. Manak is particularly incredible!

I have been going to this Vet with all my animals since 1987. I absolutely love Doctor Hillis. He is a great surgeon and has been very fair over the years. The clinic may be a few more dollars but the quality at this hospital is well worth every penny. No worries at all. I highly doubt I would go anywhere else.

I wouldn't take my dog anywhere else. Dr. Ashleigh Malarzcuk is a wonderfully caring vet as well as Dr. Hillis. I have never felt pressured about unecessary tests or medications. I have always been greeted by staff and although some are friendly than others all are professional and courteous. Prices are comparable to other vets in the region.

I would 'STRONGLY' recommend you find another Vet as this place OVER-CHARGES, tries to keep all paper work (including rabies tags) or tries to charge you ($25. per animal) for the paper work, which rightly by law is yours. They also charge you an outrageous consultation fees and knowing pretty much what is wrong with your pet they try to get you to pay (again outrageous fees) for many tests that are not needed. e.g. my dog had a skin problem and they wanted to do skin scrapings and biopsies which were not needed. I took my dog to a Vet in Scarborough (Belamey/Lawrence Animal Clinic) and for the same price (where I got nothing but flea treatment and oil to add to their food), the Vet in Scarborough gave us flea treatment, oil additive for their food, anti-biotic plus a medicated skin treatment cream. In other words Vet in Scarborough cured my dogs problem where as this Vet did nothing but empty my pocket book.

East Oshawa Animal Hospital is a great place to take your animals! They are caring and considerate of pets and people. They are especially good with my big dog that most vets are afraid of...

I can say I will not be bringing my pets back here the lady at the front desk Pam is very ignorant and they are very over priced. She told me she would not sell me flea medication unless I made an apt with the vet but little did she know I already spoke with someone the day before who told me I could just come in and pick it up. Pam argued with me until I said I wanted to speak with a manger. Will not be returning or telling anyone to go there.

we have been going here for 19 years. best staff and vets ever. Dr. Mackenzie and Dr. Hillis are our favourites. I would recommend this place to anyone. I trust them with our animals lives and Dr. Hillis is the best surgeon ever. The staff are great and I can call anytime to get advice. We never have to wait long and its always clean there. We will continue going there as long as we have pets. They are the best! I think it says it all when our family has been going there for over 19 yrs now.

We have only visited this hospital twice having switched from another clinic. We are really impressed with the staff and vets at this hospital. They are very understanding of your feelings and financial situation. They tell you upfront what each item will cost and give you a few options for you to think about. They correctly diagnosed our dog after she was treated incorrectly off and on for 3 years. They are very thorough with their exams and take the time to explain everything to you in terms you can understand. We cannot say enough for this hospital. We now bring our dog and cat there.

I think the vets at this clinic are top notch. Our dog was very ill, and I believe she got excellent care. I felt like they did not do any unnecessary tests and really tried to keep costs down. Their compassion for my dog and my family was amazing. They really made me feel like I had some control of the situation. Gave me their reccomendations, but also gave other options and let me decide which was best for our dog, and our financial situation. I agree some of the staff at the front desk aren't exactly warm and friendly. That's why I gave a 4/5 for staff. But I honestly don't care , the vets and their assistants were very warm and friendly to me and my dog, and that's the most important thing to me!

The staff is SO Rude, Tammy in particular. It probably would kill her to crack a smile. I really don't know how she still has a job at the front desk dealing with client's. From the other reviews it looks like all of there desk staff needs to be replaced. Definitely not a friendly or inviting atmosphere.

An excellent clinic with friendly staff, knowledgeable professional staff and pricing in range with the rest of Oshawa. Other clinics I have found get you in the door with a lower price BUT you end up spending the same of not MORE when all is said and done.

The front desk staff need to smile more. When someone walks through the door they need to be acknowledged right away whether it be a wave or eye contact or something. I walked in there one time and nobody said anything and I was there 5 mins before anyone acknowledged me and it wasn't busy. First impressions make a huge difference.

We had taken our cat there for years so when got our puppy it was a no brainer that she'd go there too. The vet had never even heard of her breed, he told me results for a test we hadn't had done yet. They cancelled her spay appointment the night before, and have since canceled it once more. Whenever I called to reschedule i was put on hold and left there until I hung up. I'll never bring either of my animals back.

This vet hospital is amazing. They are up to date on their medicine and care about me and my pet. I think social etiquette works both ways and I realize veterinary medicine is my responsibility, financially, as is my attitude. You get what you pay for. What I like is this staff and ownership offered the best and let me make a decision as to what I could do financially, and emotionally. Vet medicine isn't subsidized by the government so it costs us money in treatment or insurance.

I can only say GOOD THINGS about the Vets and the staff at East Oshawa. My dog was beat up Dec 2011 and athough the clinic was closing Dr. Mckenzie and the staff stayed late to do surgery. They could have sent me to the emergency clinc and it would have cost me alot more. Dr Manak made a house call for my very sick cat. Dr. Manak and the staff also stayed late for a emergency on a Sat. saving me lot of money at the emergency Vets. I find the Staff very friendly and they go out of their way to help any way they can. I love East Oshawa Amimal Hospital and would not take my animals anythere else!!!

My cats have been treated by both Dr Mackenzie and Dr Freeburn. They are very knowledgeable and genuinely concerned with my cats' well-being. They are very patient with my concerns and questions about my cats, and have even made follow-up phone calls to check on their progress (one of my cats was quite sick last summer). I agree with the other comments that sometimes the office staff seem indifferent, but I would not hesitate to recommend Dr Mackenzie and Dr Freeburn to anyone looking for a personable, competent and caring vet.

People who complain about costs should pretend they don't have the benefit of Ontario health care and pay their human docotrs bills. You might be surprised how much a dr visit costs...how about a surgery....tens of thousands!

The rates are extremely over priced , they care more about making money than caring and curing your beloved animal. Was screamed at by a receptionist because I challenged them on their estimate and she was not happy to be questioned and not back down. She cancelled my cats spot, so I guess the owners give her free reign to filter who they chose as clients.

My experience at East Oshawa Animal Hospital was okay. I loved the vets and staff members. The vets are great at their job and seem like very friendly people. Most of the staff seem to enjoy what they do, and have great knowledge of products and services. Reception would have been rated a 5, if it weren't for the older lady. It looks like she has no interest in the business or the clients, however the blonde lady that works saturdays is very nice and personable, and the young lady is very polite and friendly. Every time I walk in the door, her face lights up and is ready to serve me. She seems very mature and knowable for her age. The morning staff is also great when it is not busy. I have to say I don't think I could take my pets elsewhere.

My dog receives the BEST care at this clinic. The front staff is warm and friendly and they always go the extra mile to interact with me and my dog. The Dr's are well informed and have always made sure that my dog is happy and healthy. I initially chose this clinic because they were recommended and now I wouldn't consider going anywhere else.

It was the incompetency of the veterinarians of this clinic which contributed to the debilitated state of a much loved golden retriever, and his ultimate euthanasia one year ago today. In spite of multiple visits, my concerns were not taken seriously, and it was the emergency vet clinic in Whitby which finally made the diagnosis. This was not the first time that a mistake had been made by the vets on one of my dogs, but this error cost my boy his life.

Terrible staff: unfriendly and a smile would crack their face. One older woman should not work there as she is clueless (perhaps she's a family member of the owner or something). Staff are continually chatting about their personal lives and it comes across as very unprofessional and do we clients really want to hear about their personal lives?!

Extreme concern for detail and working with clients. Very open to client suggestions. Staff are very friendly and personable. Doctors go the extra mile, wanting to make sure each client is given only best of care. One definitely feels that money is NOT the objective of this clinic, but offering the best care available to our pets is. With that said, this clinic lack's nothing as far as equipment. With multiple pets for 15 years, finding this clinic 6 years ago made me wish I found them from the beginning.
