Click to report rating    5/11/13   2     1     1     1   The worst veterinary clinic that I have ever attended. Dr. Darsh is not only rude to the owers of his patients. Never offers any explanation of condition of the pet he is examining. This man is by far rudest doctor I have ever encountered. But, the worst problem is that he ONLY addresses the symptoms of the animal, and completely fails to see the origin of the illness, and how to really cure it. My dog had a skin condition that had I not taken him to an excellent holistic doctor, Dr. Darsh would have probably killed my dog by continuing to inject him with steroids. This man rushes to make diagnoses of his patients, and treats them as if they were objects in an assembly line. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS CLINIC, LET ALONE DR. DARSH. If you love your pet, and want her or him to be healed take the animal to a holistic doctor. I am extremely happy with the clinic I found in Creedmore Rd. in Raleigh. RID: 42429
Click to report rating    5/22/11   1     3     5     5   If you care about your pets, please do not take them here. My dog was misdiagnosed, and if still under Dr. Darch's care would have died. They are reasonable in their prices, but you truly get what you pay for. RID: 25152
Click to report rating    2/9/11   5     1     3     4   There is a reason people call him "Dr DEATH" too many animals are treated too quickly. Ask how often one dies in his care, when someone is supposed to be observing them. I have lost my beloved during a routine surgery--and this was predicted by others, but I did not really believe them. And so I lost my best friend. It happens too often there. Personally, I just think Dr Death does not really treasure the individual lives of pets--most cats seem interchangeable to him, and dogs also! He is a nice man, and his staff is great, but he needs more of them to manage the care of his patients. I am very sorry to have to say this, but it has always been my experience with this office over more than 10 years. RID: 22717
Click to report rating    12/16/10   5     5     5     5   I have been using NWAH since moving here from VA. I rescue and he is the best. I have a Dorian Chow that he has neutered and removed dew claws and my baby is fine. I had a JRT that needed teeth cleaning and she was fine. I feel that maybe the negatives on this vet would probably have been made against any vet as they are few and far between and when a pet dies you have to blame someone. I love them and they are best in the Triangle area. RID: 21449
Click to report rating    10/28/10   5     5     5     5   LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Dr. Darch and all of his staff. I have been going there since I moved to NC 7 years ago and have been so happy. My Lab that has suffered from chronic skin issues, has never been better. I highly recommend this vet. RID: 20534
Click to report rating    7/22/10   4     5     5     5   Dr Darch is the best. Whether I'm in the office, or calling from on vacation w/ an emergency question - he's been there for me for 10 years. He's quiet, without flash, has a manner that all of my animals have taken to immediately, and I won't use anywhere else. RID: 18899
Click to report rating    5/26/10   5     5     5     5   I have been going to North Wake for years and they have the best Vet and staff I have ever met. They are resonable in price and great with my little dog. I love North Wake. RID: 18125
Click to report rating    1/15/10   1     2     2     1   I took my dog there to get spade; we rescued her and this was her original vet. He was $300 cheaper than other vets in the area, but that cost me! He did not properly close my dogs stitches, so I had to take her to the emergency vet over the weekend which cost me an additional $500. The moral of this story is you get what you pay for. I am lucky that my dog ended up being okay and I was home, so she didn't bleed to death, but this could have been a very bad situation. The vet was unkind, as was the staff and their systems of check-out and building are very out-dated. I will not take my dog back there!! RID: 16157
Click to report rating    6/27/09   1     4     1     1   If there was a lower rating than one star, I would award it to North Wake. They are matter of fact and quick to handle your pet and you. I had been going here for the last 7 years. This place has gone downhill quickly over the last few years. I have a newborn daughter at home and when I took my lab to have her skin checked, Dr. Darth didn't even tell me what was wrong or ask before he pumped her full of some shot. I later learned it was an extreemely potent steroid much to high for my labs weight. Because he was so curt with me, I never got a chance to ask about her condition and whether it was dangerous for our newborn. The next morning I called to get more details. I spoke with the female vet who crudely ask me "I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHAT IT IS YOU WANT? I MEAN, WHAT DO YOU WANT, A DERMATOLOGY LESSON"? If this practice REALLY cared about pets and the owners do you think two out of the three vets there would be so negative? CHEAP PRICES DO NOT JUSTIFY INEPT SERVICE AND HATEFUL TREATMENT! RID: 13325
Click to report rating    3/7/09   5     5     5     5   I've been going to Dr. Darch for years and have always been very happy with his balanced love for animals and people. He has helped my family even when he technically didn't have to (my pet duck was choking and he saved her life!). His staff have always been very helpful, and I appreciate the fact that he also takes on apprentices to give them experience. I highly recommend them! RID: 12003
Click to report rating    1/24/09   5     5     5     5   I have taken my dogs to Dr Darch from day one. They are brothers and are now 15.5 years old. He has been excellent with them. He has never failed diagnosing an ailment followed by proper treatment resulting in quick recovery. My dogs have been through alot starting with stomach hernias when I got them as puppies. In fact, I called Dr Darch on a weekend before purchasing the dogs regarding the hernias. I wasn't even a client yet but he took the time to talk to me and explain the situation. After marriage, our family pets grew to 6 and Dr Darch takes care of all of them. He and his staff know most of their clients by site and are friendly. Dr Darch always says Hi and asks about the pets even when I am just stopping in for supplies or medicines. Even after moving to Raleigh, I continue to drive my pets out there to him. He is very good and as a bonus he is cheaper than most Raleigh vets. There are many of us that drive from Raleigh to have Dr Darch take care of our pets. RID: 11358
Click to report rating    9/11/08   1     2     3     1   Going to NWAH was the most tragic mistake I have made in the life of my pet! I took my puppy here for here until she was 6 months old and was uncomfortable at each of my visits. Darch does not take any time to examine your animal, he does not get to know you or your animal, should he make a diagnosis, he will not take any time to discuss it or treatment options with you. He is arrogant and belittling and opinionated and completely unyielding to any alternate ideas or even consumer requests. He injured my puppy through a foolish and unnecessary stunt and now my champion line performance dog has an orthopedic injury caused by in incompetent vet! I thought my experience was surly isolated and although he is no doubt a cold unsympathetic jerk, his experience must have counted for something; That is until I started hearing many accounts of his atrocities to pets costing owners thousands of dollars to fix elsewhere! Inferior service will cost you & It isn't worth it! Avoid NWAH! RID: 9951
Click to report rating    5/29/08   5     5     5     5   Great vet. Has saved countless numbers of our animals over the years from impossible illnesses and problems. My brother brought his dog all the way from Wilmington to see Dr. Darch due to hip problems that the dog was having and Dr. Darch did a wonderful job on this dog also. I can't recommend him or his staff more and we have used him as our family vet since the 80's. RID: 8641
Click to report rating    4/12/08   1     1     1     1   I went to see these vets, Dr. Darsh being one when my dog was sick. Without doing and test the diagnosed the dog with parvo and sent me home with an oral antibiotic. The dog was only slight lethargic and the condition didn't change for several days. A few days later the dog started getting worse. They were very nasty with me when I went back to the vet to change treatments telling me there was nothing more they could do. So I went home and started my research on the internet. I found out the you CANNOT treat parvo with an oral antibiotic, the dog should have been given shots, or intravenous antibiotics because parvo damages the GI tract. These people didn't know that. I tried to take my dog to another vet but it was to little to late and he passed. Not only does this vet need a lesson in customer service skills, they need to go back to school. I cannot rate them low enough on this system. RID: 8024
Click to report rating    12/19/06   4     4     4     5   We have only used him but he has been very good. He doesn't spend that much time with them but they are always busy. Our animals like him and he always asks about the ones that we don't bring in. RID: 1349
