Horrible staff quotes one price, falsely claims a higher price was approved and fails to even complete the job the charged for. Then when questioned they continue the false claims of the dishonest staff, talk over you and refuse to listen to your complaints. They will not honor their price quotes and claim the service is what was requested even though my Silky show dog now looks like a Chihuahua. Who would ask for that? Not a place you want to go.

I have taken my dog,Shea, to Academy West for vaccines in the past because he is the only vet in the area on the United Pet care insurance. On 01/27/14 I took her in because I knew there was something wrong,she is 9yrs old so I don't mess around. this vet did a basic exam and said he could find nothing wrong. I informed him I had recently switched her to a raw diet,he said he did not recommend that because of complications.He never said anything about checking her for e-coli. I requested the senior blood panel be done which I assumed would show any problems.He said it came back normal. two days later I came home and she was having stomach spasms and had cold body temp. I took her back, another basic exam,even commented on the cold, did an x-ray.His diagnosis: constipation said he could not find anything wrong. she lived one more week and died at the ER vet of a perforated bowel caused by an infection. had this vet been less casual about treating my dog,she would still be alive today.
