I have bringing my dog to this hospital since she was 6 months old. annual check-ups etc. teeth cleaned about 4-5 years ago. took her in for her annual checkup a few months ago and no issues but suggested she get her teeth cleaned. brought her in today and got a call from a Dr. Lopez and it was going to be necessary to have nearly all her teeth removed due to a long infection. I asked why no one had mentioned this over the years and it was "Miss-Communication". The dog now may never eat solid food. her tongue may hang out. My wife and family are devastated. DO NOT TRUST SCOTTSDALE HILLS ANIMAL HOSPITAL AT 7139 E. THUNDERBIRD RD, SCOTTSDALE AZ.

I had recently been taking my cat Flounder to Drs. Besemer and Kieran for the last few weeks for previously diagnosed chronic renal failure- they, as well as the staff, are completely competent and compassionate! I recently lost him to this terrible disease, but I was met with nothing but true love for this profession and its patients- trust me, as I AM an Arizona veterinarian!

Pricey but convenient. Most of the staff are very nice. Dr. Besemer, on the other hand, has to be the very worst vet I have ever dealt with. Not only is he rude and overly rough, but you cannot ask questions or he will puff up and tell you that he is the expert and he spent eight years to be one. No questions you ask could possibly be logical. At that point, he will send you packing, sick cat in tow. Apparently we didn't have chemistry so he could not treat my cat.
