Im reporting this vet to the College of Veterinarians of Ontario for negligence and failure to exercise the requisite standard of care expected of a veterinarian doctor.
In short, this vet clinic, which is owned and operated by Dr. Sherkey, made a detrimental mistake by failing to diagnose and treat my dog’s salient illness - pancreatitis. He left my dog untreated for a very long time to the point where I was going to put her down because she was so sick and Dr. Sherkey couldn’t explain why. In a last ditch effort before euthanizing my dog I took her to another vet for a second opinion. The second vet quite easily and quickly identified the illness as pancreatitis, just with using Dr.Sherkey’s medical records of my dog. The second vet didn’t need to run any addition tests to diagnose my dog, and said pancreatitis was very clearly indicated on my dogs tests results and ultrasounds for the past year. I would like to thank Dr. Rebecca Sherkey and the staff at Bayview Hill for all their help and support. Unfortunately, we had to say goodbye to my beloved cat of 11 years due to terminal illness. Dr. R. Sherkey showed compassion, patience and understanding during a very difficult time. She is knowledgeable and very easy to talk to and we never felt rushed during our visits.

I am truly grateful for Dr. Sherkey, and his staff for all that they have done for my 8 year old pug. My dog has been a patient of Dr. Sherkeys for many years and in that time suffered from a wide range of medical ailments. If it wasn't for Dr. Sherkeys knowledge and support during many difficult times, I fear to think about the outcome. Like many dog owners, my pug is my family, and I am very careful who I place in charge of his care. I have not regretted giving that responsibility to Dr. Sherkey and his staff, not even for a moment. Dr. Sherkey is always only a phone call away if there are any questions, and goes out of his way to make himself available as often as possible. I've been bringing my puppy to this clinic for almost 2 years now. The vets are incredible, very knowledgeable, caring and compassionate. The hospital is equipped with the latest technology so I was able to get laser surgery for my puppy's neuter. The rest of the staff is very polite and the facilities are always clean. I would highly recommend this hospital to any pet owner wanting the absolute best care for their furbaby.

Excellant service. Our dog needed minor surgery on his tail followed up with Laser treatments to treat the wound. Laser treatments were awesome. Healed super quick, no pain at all. Finnigan's tail is always wagging when we drive up. He loves Daniella who always has treats in her pockets and Dr. Sherkey treats him as if he were part of his own family. Technicians are great - gentle and caring.

My furry child is a beautiful male tabby cat. He is now 20 years old thanks to the outstanding care he has from Dr. Shelley Sherkey and his professional staff at Bayview Hill Animal Hospital in Richmond Hill, Ontario. With this team everything is about care and prevention. Being a cat lover, I know how difficult is to diagnose some health issues in cats but Dr. Sherkey, with his proficiency and experience, has detected all of them even before any symptom is shown so we can address them with the most adequate treatment. I said we because his working style is to work side by side with the pet guardian looking for synergy in the proper care.
The clinic is spotless and has all the breakthrough technology needed. From the moment you walk in everything is about caring, friendly and excellent service. The price-value ratio is very positive.

I am very happy and satisfied with the wonderful staff, Dr. Sherkey, and all the aspects and services in there after every single visit. I used to take my pets to another place since 1998 and I was very happy with them until a couple of years ago, when I hit the financial hardship. Then I saw the true nature of that clinic. Despite the fact that we were a valuable customer for years, they eventually refused us a simple on the phone consultation, suggesting me to book an appointment to pay for the consultation. In despair I started calling around and Bayview Hill, was the one who welcomed us leaving the money aside until we could pay them back. They even linked us to Farley's Foundation who paid the $600 of the $630 bill. I had to visit them several times within a month for my 2 dogs and my bill was very high, but they treated us with care and respect at all times. They kept on checking up on us by courtesy calls and no charge recheck visits. I am forever grateful.

Worst clinic be aware they only want your money, had a surgery performed for my 8 month old kitten they did not follow up and hired a non certified surgeon to do the job. My cat cannot walk at all due to the failure that they did. Stay away

I brought my cat in when he stopped eating on a Sunday of a long weekend. My regular vet was closed and they are located only a few minutes from my home. Money was an issue for me and I didn't have Pet Insurance. They offered me options and alternatives. I was very grateful. My cat had many visits before we had to finally put him to sleep due to a mass in his abdomen. All the Dr's were briefed on my cat's history in case he came in. I was refered to a specialist at one point and one of the Dr's met me there on her day off. Making the decision to put my cat to sleep was very difficult but the staff at Bayview Hill were very supportive and gave us as much time as we needed. I miss my cat dearly but I know that I did everything I could in the end. I do have another cat and I will be changing to this Vet from now on.

I want to say this is the best vetinerian in the world. Doctor Sherkey is a fantastic vet that takes good care of my dog and my cats. He knows how to treat your dog or cat and is very intelligent in what he does. If I have a question or concern he always returns my calls promptly. I would not go to any other vet but Doctor Sherkey. I came here for my puppy's first visit and while first impression the place looked very clean, the actual vets were less than impressive. I had an appointment with Dr. Sherkey and later with Dr angar and both were more eager to sell me their royal canin dog food and pet insurance than looking at my puppy. They gave my puppy unnecessary shots and Medicine that treated symptoms without actually diagnosing the issue. I'm let feeling completely less than confident on the doctors capabilities I'm never going there again.

Started bringing my two dogs here 5 years ago because of the reputation of the groomer. Very happy with grooming but found the vet over priced and understaffed. Now I have just been notified that their groomer has relocated and has been replaced by a new less experienced groomer, thats very unfortunate I will most definatly be following their previous groomer.

My entire family has been bringing our pets here for over 20 years. This is more than 5 pets. We love Dr Sherkey and the care he provides. The staff is amazing, including the grooming.

I have been going to this clinic since the arrival of my poodle. I had an emergency with my puppy due to human neglect by the previous owners. Bayview Animal Hospital more so Dr. Sharkie understood my desperation to treat this poor sick animal that could not speak for himself. I ended up taking my poodle back 5 times in a few weeks and he did get better and I was socked that only one of my visits I paid for, because the other 4 visits were to monitor the same concern. I couldn't believe the care for my poodle. I called every vet in RH and Bayview Animal Hospital was almost the same and even cheaper then some with****y hours. I have always thought of my poodle as one of the most important parts of my life and was glad to see Dr. Sharkie saw and relaid this with every visit, along with EVERY staff member. I am by far one of the least wealthy customers, but feel I am treated just as good every time I walk through the door. Since animals are not able to speak, I'm glad this clinic is open

Dr.Sherkey's vet takes excellent care of my pet. The staff is always friendly and most importantly they care about my pet. Ive been going to Bayview Hill for years. My dog has epilepsy and they always make sure she gets the extra care and attention she requires. and made sure I had all the information I needed to my satisfactory on having to take care of a pet with a permanent disorder. I would definitely recommend this vet for people who want a doctor that treats there pets well

Bayview Hill Animal Hospital is a five star veterinary clinic that provides excellent care for your best friend. I started bringing my cat Rags to this vet in 2006. In 2009 she was diagnosed with polycystic Kidney disease. She lived for three more years because of their hard work and experience in the field. Truly Bayview Hill was my cats second favourite home when most animals hate hospitals. She passed away last year, I still miss her very much. I have adopted another friend named Prissy. It is sad to say that she has kidney problems as well but with their help I believe she will be around for many more years to come. Finally I would like to say compared to other vets their prices are reasonable and there are no extra charges for emergencies and many times I was given a break with the examine fees. For sure this is the best vet in the GTA. If you are looking for a good vet, look no further than Bayview Hill. I promise you that you won't be disappointed.

Extremely high turnover rate! I always see new staff there and they are mostly rude. Overpriced in every way! Dr. Sherkey always wears sunglasses and I find that to be very unprofessional.

Having moved around in several Countries over the years, I have had to visit many veterinary clinics with my animals. The staff at Bayview Hill Animal Hospital stand out above the rest.
I took my Dog in as an emergency and from the moment I walked through the door the reception staff and technicians were all very friendly, caring and attentive.
I was extremely fortunate to see Dr Sherkey, who was actually leaving for the day, but stayed on to attend to my sick dog. Dr Sherkey made me feel at ease straight away, he was very thorough, very knowledgeable and very professional.
In Toronto GTA area alone I have taken my dogs to three Vets, none of whom compare to the level of care given by Dr Sherkey and the rest of the staff at Bayview Hill. I will only be going to Bayview Hill Animal hospital from now on and highly recomend them to anyone.

I used to like this vet when he first graduated vet college. A time when he worked alone. Since he's made his million IMO he doesn't care anymore. I believe he likes dogs but not cats. I won't go into what he did to one of mine, so know it cost me more than a thousand dollars, that's just for one visit. Never again will l ever take an animal to him (the owner) l can't even speak or type his name l am so disgusted. Sharkey is no better either. Money money money is all they care about. But when it enough, enough?

I have no complaint about the service, just very, very expensive. Dental cleaning + 3 extractions for my cat end up costing close to $1000. I was simply shocked.

Excellent hospital. I have been coming here for years and pretty much every vet. I like how even if it is a vet I haven't seen before they read the history first and communicate with eachother. Anyone I have ever recommended this place to has said nothing but good things also. It is pretty, clean, friendly staff, great knowledge. I feel very comfortable knowing my pets have good care available 7 days a week.

Fantastic care,compassionate and friendly staff. Have been to 2 other vets and could not help my dog Niblet skin condition. After 10 minutes with Dr.Sherkey he diagnosed his problem and he;s never been better. Recommended numerous friends and family and they have all had the same great experience. Wish my family doctore and staff were as good.

"All that glitters is not gold." Beautiful location, courteous staff, very kind attitude by the vets. Unfortunately, the exorbitant fees and costs are to compensate them for the superficial stuff, and the actual medical work is definitely sub par. Not only did they recommend a long litany of tests, but the prices were higher than most, and they STILL couldn't find the problem a couple of thousand dollars later. On top of that, the vet recommended a dog food that is POOR in quality (corn is #1 ingredient in Dental-Cal, $85 for a big bag vs. $70 for Fromm's Adult Gold), but cost a lot more than even the best quality foods. Do not be misled into thinking that you're paying 5-star prices for 5-star medical treatment for your beloved pets... you're paying for luxury renovations and smiles from the staff. Even cost $25 fee to transfer out to another vet? Dogs are now sick again, and I won't be bringing them back and pay thousands to hear "we're not sure, we should do more tests."

I have been bringing my pets to this clinic for 10years, always friendly staff who seem very knowledgeable. My dogs are always happy to walk in the door whether to see one of the Dr's or to have a haircut! Great groomer at this clinic by the way.

Awful clinic. 2 years ago I brought my 9 yr old rabbit there because it was the closest clinic to me that I could go to that day when I saw that Rosie could not move her back legs. Frightened I went to this clinic who told me they treated rabbits. I would go to my usual bunny vet a few days later. When I went in the vet told me he needed to take an x-ray to see if something was broken. Behind the door I heard the vet speak to a girl, likely a staff member. The one thing I heard so clearly and still horrifies me was "...how to do x-rays on rabbits for dummies" followed by a laugh from the staff member. Makes me wonder what they were mumbling earlier when I wasn't listening. $400 x-ray later he found nothing broken and then suggested a $1200 emergency operation to open her up to look if something was wrong with her kidneys. I would be stupid to agree to that. I sought to visit my bunny vet instead for his opinion and it turned out Rosie had E. Cuniculi. Do not go to this clinic!!

I've had a terrible experience here. I took my puppy here for the first checkup and 10\% of the appointment was the actual checkup and the other 90\% was advertising pet insurance, treats, and other products they carry. Thinking that this was just for the first appointment, I brought my puppy for a second time for his shots. Instead, this time it's about selling the dog food available at the place and pestered me about buying insurance again. They will even tell you that the food you are feeding your pets are bad and suggest you buy their products instead. They are eager to advertise because of the commission they earn from these sales. I can't trust this vet if his suggestions are all about getting your money and you can tell he doesn't care about your pet when he only sees $$$.

I have owned pets all of my life and therefore have been to several animal hospitals over the years. I have never felt more at home and at ease than I have at Bayview Animal Hospital. The staff really care about your pet and about you. I would highly recommend this clinic to any pet owner !!

These guys are crooks. They know absolutely nothing about rabbits, yet they say they can treat him. Charged me $100 for doing absolutely nothing.
