Lunatic after-hours vet named Dan Terhaar works there, so watch out! I will be reporting him to the state oversight board for kicking my dog and I out of the clinic at 0200! Apparently, he wasn't man enough to take my telling him that he was patronizing me (which he so cruelly was, not to mention smirking every time I showed any emotion). My dog could have died from a stroke, a bowel obstruction, and/or an infection - I found out the next day! Can you imagine a medical professional not treating the patient because they're mad at the caregiver? I thought I had seen it all in my 52 years, but this situation floors me and leaves me shaking in my boots. Run to Atascadero and do not go near this man!

I am from out of the area but visit often. I have had to come to this facility twice once for a minor issue once for my dog eating his toy and it not passing. He needed surgery. The very nice staff updated me at every junction and kept well within their estimate. While the emergency fee was a little higher than my regular vet,the other prices were pretty comparable and I am willing to pay for the convenience of them being there all nights and weekends. Overall , I hope I don't have to go there again (no offense) but if my dog has another emregency I will definetly be visiting them!
