I met Drs Sills and Woltz in 1996 when I had an emergency with a dog they had never seen before. Although it was not visiting hours, the door was open waiting for me and I was brought right into a room where both these vets examined my dog. I have used them ever since. I have never been disappointed; I usually use Dr Sills when I do not have an emergency but have had positive experiences with every one of the vets here. I had Dr Woltz do chemo on one of my dogs who had lymphoma... his life and quality of life was extended by eight months, I knew going in that this was not "curable". I have never had a concern even with surgery or overnight stays, even my Whippets (very difficult to anesthesize a sighthound) were well cared for. I know that emergencies are triaged; the most urgent are brought right in. The staff is friendly but very very busy, the senior techs are excellent, I have a lot of confidence in the more senior techs - the newer ones are respectful and work well with the

My beloved soul-mate died at this animal hospital. She was found collapsed on a Saturday morning, and I called the office to see if I could bring her in. I explained it was an emergency, but when I got there they treated us as though it was a routine visit. My beloved pet was dying and there was no one who bothered to usher us into the back ASAP... instead, the front desk clerks were clueless and had us wait for 15 minutes in the waiting room! The lack of action that was needed immediately was unacceptable. Don't agree to have the patient rushed over to the hospital if you are too busy to accommodate them professionally. My sweet baby died that day, and I felt very badly treated. I will always remember how I felt that day. Additionally, the vet techs are not compassionate, gentle, or even professional in their bed-side skills.

The vets do care about the animals. Some of their techs are better than others. Be careful of which tech you get. I had one dog that was dying and they went above and beyond trying to save him. I finally had to say enough was enough and have the dog euthanized. A year later I got a puppy who ended up getting lyme disease they did a lyme test and they said it was negative and then I had it done somewhere else and it was positive. I ended up going to a third vet who is an authority on lyme disease in dogs in CT who confirmed that the dog was positive-it was a slight posiitve but it was positive. Teh dog was treated and is healthy today. I would not go back because of that. The parking lot is crazy and always take a first or last appointment (least wait time)

I rated the staff 5 because they really care about our animals. They follow up and spend the time to ensure we understand everything going on. I highly recommend Dr. Gross. She is thorough, listens to what you say, and works with you for the best outcome. I rated the facilities at 4 since their waiting/exam rooms are small and parking can be a headache. All public areas I've seen are very clean. I rated punctuality as an average 3 because they are the same as any other vet (or doctor) office I've ever been in. Monetary Value is a 4. They are not inexpensive, but you get good value for the money.

I have been going to this Facility since the 1970's. Even though I have moved further away, I still only go to Central Animal. I only wish I could find a human doctor to care about me the way the Doctors here care about my pets. Dr Sills will always be my favorite. He saved the life of one of my dogs when he had a terribble case of pneumonia. Went the extra mile to give him injectable IV antibiotics daily for 2 weeks even on Christmas morning.
