Click to report rating    3/16/17   1     3     1     1   I brought my dog 3 years ago, they spent 2hrs to see him, they came saying that I needed to pay 75% of the bill ahead, that was the 1st thing that came out of their mouth, then they told me what they thought was wromg with my dog, that I would need to do many test and that he had to stay in the hospital for at least 4 days, which was 5,000 and that it could be more than that. They said they couldn't give any treatment to my dog if he didn't stay or that I could put him to sleep, I had to take the difficult decision to put him to sleep because they said even with the tx they couldn't guarantee he will survive. Today I went there with my other dog, I brought blood work from my vet they said the same story, I need to leave the dog a few days for a total of 5K and they don't guarantee that he'll survive, I'm at home now inconsolable deciding if bringing my dog tomorrow to put him to sleep. They just care about money not about your loved pet it is so sad, I wish I could find another place RID: 63057
Click to report rating    7/31/13   1     5     4     1   Let's put it this way..everyone who said something bad about this place was right on the money..I know this for fact because someone close to me works there tells me much about this place. A student pays 40+ k a year to go here to experiment on your pet..and pray they get it right. Someone here said that Tufts cremated their horse..well honey...your horse was unfortunately shall we say sliced and diced for the students to study..they do not burn dead animals here...they also have vets that don't give a**** about animals at all...and why is that???? Because owners who love their kids as we call our pets will do anything to help their pets and these vets know this...either put up the huge price tag or put your pet down...that's what they say to everyone. Those that had good experiences..I'm happy for you...but there are more bad than good when it comes to the vets care of your pets. Btw..this friend cries often because of what she sees everyday there! RID: 45999

Click to report rating    11/3/12   5     5     5     3   you are the best. you saved my baby's life three times when we thought all was lost. each time my kitty came back to us feelig better then ever, even after having to have a kidney removed. i would reccomend tufts ao anyone who loves their pets as much as i do, knowing they will get the best and ,most compassionate care you could ask for. Thank you with all my heart. RID: 38258

Click to report rating    9/8/10   3     4     1     1   We had the same bad experience as the rater from 4/10 except my cat had cancer and they kept saying that he needed all kinds of tests and they advised us to put him in intensive care for a few days. Bill came to $4,000. Don't get me wrong. I would have done that and more if it would have helped but the long and short of it is that I suspect that they knew what it was and exploited are love for him. Besides their first loyalties go to the institution and to their staff in training who need experience at your expense. They have good facilities and have the equipment but their motives are no good. Go somewhere else where they don't exploit you. I refer to this place as the Auschwitz for animals. No kidding. Its the truth. BTW My cat died 3 weeks later at home which is where he should have been. Don't let them do unneccesary tests and operations to your animals if you care about them. Usually cancer is bad because animals don't show it until the end. Just keep that in mind. RID: 19634
Click to report rating    5/8/09   1     2     1     2   I don't care how great the care is (and it ISN'T that great), when the staff could clearly care less about you and your pet then the care is terrible. I had an appointment and still waited almost an hour to be seen! I wouldn't ever bring my pet there again. I recently ended up having to bring my cat to the Walpole Tufts and what a difference! The staff was caring and compassionate, my cat was seen immediately by a vet tech in the waiting room and treated accordingly. I don't know what the technical difference between the two places is, but Walpole Tufts is 100% better! RID: 12738
Click to report rating    6/8/08   3     4     2     2   over rated and over priced. If this is what the future of veterinary medicine is about, then good luck to us all. RID: 8755
Click to report rating    11/1/07   1     1     1     1   Staff= Not my Job, not my department, don't know who you or your pet are and don't know anyone who works here either. Facilities= In the one public bathroom provided, if you can charge all that money...why not put a decent toilet seat on? It falls on the ground in to urine and you have to pick it up and balance it on the toilet to use it...nasty. Punctuality= we are not going to update you, or call or, or even care about you. The students claimed they cared and would look after our girl like she was their own. Then, behind closed doors, "not my dog or department". After 3 days there, my dog was weak, seriously dehydrated, not even coherent enough to recognize us. The Dr. called us on the way to pick her up to let us know it she was not going to our meeting we scheduled with her because...you guessed it "not my departm..." we specifically asked to meet with anyone who could help us with post surgical care. THEY DID NOT EVEN TELL US ABOUT THE NEXT DOSE OF MEDICATION, WHEN WHAT ECT.... RID: 6340
