This is the best small animal veterinary hospital anywhere.

Do not go to this pet hospital "Camino Pet Hospital" it is a rip off... They will try to sell you everyting they can to make a dollar. They say they care for your dog or puppy but they really only care about the bottom dollar.

OK, my "Staff" rating goes all to Dr. Shoolman, he came across as a psychopath (first time visit) and believe me you feel the off beat in this vet office and office staff cheeringly try to balance the off beat mood. I asked questions and Dr. Schoolman is very condescending and treats his patients as if they are idiots (duh, I would NEVER pay to have any of my animals serviced by this psychopath). I wonder why he got into caring for animals, holy****, I would be terrified of this guy harming my animals. Please, don't take your animals to this facility, I promise he is by far the creepiest vet I have ever come across! As to the rest of the staff, they are gracious and warm, but why "donate" money to a doctor that has major creep factor going for him.

DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET HERE! I had a cat who had a hairball. Dr. Shoolman told me, after a very expensive xray, that he would need to do SURGERY to remove it. That sounded pretty drastic to me, so I got a second opinion. Turns out that it could be cured by an over-the-counter laxative. Dr. Shoolman didn't even mention this option! (Other Dr. said that in his 25+ years of experience, he had operated on a hairball twice! Also, I have watched friends take their pets there and be obviously encouraged to to unnecessary procedures (i.e. having a dogs teeth cleaned every 6 months?! Checkups twice a year? It is clear to me that they are catering to those who don't question what a vet says and is afraid because "Fluffy" might be harmed "if they don't. SAVE YOUR MONEY! This is one of those vets that CREATES items that needs to be addressed/treated.

I liked the vets here very much, but recently was concerned about over vaccinating. UC Davis has 3 year recommendations for certain vaccines that are given annually at this office. I have cat that developed fibroid sarcoma at the injections sites and am more concerned about overvaccination.

Dr. Fluent and Dr. Shoolman are super! They answered all of my questions and are even available after hours instead of being referred to an emergency clinic. The staff seem to really love animals. Their prices were low compared to everywhere else in the area, but I would recommend them even if they were higher.

The hospital is a little outdated, but the doctors and staff are great. I could tell that my pets welfare was a top priority. Prices are more than fair. An office visit is only $39 and vaccines are only $8 each.
