I brought my sweet 11 year dog in with swelling on her side to VCA and she was misdiagnosed, and we lost her 4 days later. I called everyday and talked to Dr. Camacho, he reassured me that she was fine and that because of her age she would take more time to heal. I asked if she should come in for a blood test, she only had an X-ray., he felt it wouldn't do any good. But did suggest "exploratory surgery?" She wasn't getting better, (original diagnosis, "spider bite or wasp sting") I felt it wasn't that, but he always had the perfect explanation as to why she wasn't improving, and who am I to question a professional? Well, by Friday, she seemed worse, (first visit was Monday) went to a different Vet Clinic. Blood test showed it was her liver, and by the way, Camacho when he saw her, mentioned that "the X-ray shows an slightly enlarged liver, but it's not life threatening." She died from liver and kidney failure...we were beyond devastated.

Dr. Camacho is the best. I only take my dog and cat to see Dr. Camacho. DO NOT see Dr. Heit, he is rude and how dare you even try to question his recommendations for treatment. Dr. Camacho listens, takes into considersation your questions, and budget.

The staff at this facility have been great and understanding even when my dog had cancer. Dr. Shawn Camacho is the best and is the vet I would most highly recommend. He is caring and thorough and develops a rapport even with the most nervous of pups. I checked out a number of clinics before I found Dr. Camacho and now would never change. He also takes into consideration the expense involved when recommending treatments. He is the BEST!
