The only reason there are high ratings for this vet because these categories give a very limited sense of the quality of the vet. Having a clean facility and being punctual are basic minimum standards and should not constitute half of the review. This office lied to me over the phone about the cost of blood work and then tried to make me pay over over $100 more when I came into the office. I also paid full price for an appointment where we had notified the vet ahead of time about a medical issue we were coming in for and the vet offered no expertise or advice whatsoever. I had done more research than the vet (who seemingly had done none) and told the vet about the research I had done. They then tried to email me afterwards with the phone number of a specialist who I had told the vet about at the appointment and had researched myself. This appointment cost $70. They are constantly trying to push other services that are dubiously necessary.

I have stumbled across this clinic about 8 years ago in desperation to get a second opinion on my cat. She was diagnosed with kidney problems and a tumour by another vet and I was quoted over $1000.00 for needed biopsy and other tests/surgeries or the cat would die within 3 years. When I came to the clinic, Dr. Hill confirmed the kidney problems but weighted out my options with me and recommended to not go ahead with the test as the end result of them is never 100% but the financial cost is high (and his quote was still my lower than my other vet's). My cat lived to be 15 years old! So I've been coming here ever since with my now three cats and have nothing but positive things to say. Prices are always fair, the staff take the time to listen and explain what is happening, and are so caring with the animals. Always felt comfortable leaving my cats overnight here as well. Would definitely recommend seeing Dr. Hill and Dr.Mac here and the clinic's giant friendly cat Sam.

Dr. Hill and the staff are incredible. My dog Cynder had a very serious disease that we didn't know she had until it got out of a control. When I took Cynder to Dr. Hill I was told by a different vet that it was a different diagnosis and she would need surgery. Dr. Hill took a look at her and told me that it was this other disease and surgery was not necessary. He then took the time to do some research on his computer and showed me and explained to me everything that was happening and what we could try. He then did everything he could to save my Cynder with the appropriate meds and food. Unfortunately the disease was too far along and we as Cynder's owners made the sad decision to let her go and stop her suffering. I would recommend BloorMill to everyone. The staff if friendly, knowledgable, compassionate.

Dr. Hill and all of his staff are amazing. My baby gizmo gets superior care during each visit. His latest surgery was quite tricky with a mass on his bottom eyelid. Dr. Hill did a superb job at reconstructing the eyelid after the mass removal. Its almost completely healed now and it doesn't even look like it had been under surgery. Dr. Hill is that good. This vet is the best. Highly recommend. If only my family physician was as good as dr. Hill maybe i'd be in as good health as my dog. A+++

I have dogs and a cat and I am a regular client. The staff are amazing - very friendly and knowledgeable. Dr. Hill is wonderful!! I love his quiet, calm, kind and confident demeanor. My one dog has several complex issues and I always feel that Dr. H knows what to do. He explains the medical aspects well - really takes the time - and has provided me with additional information so I feel fully informed. If you are looking for a competent, experienced vet with amazing support staff, try Bloor Mill.

My pets have seen Dr. Hill for years and I am completely happy with his compassion and care at each visit. I live far and have many clinics at my disposal closer to my home but I feel the care my pets receive from Dr. Hill and staff is beyond exceptional and worth the drive. Dr. Hill always explains everything to me during my pet's exam and thoroughly goes over the findings with me in detail. While he can be quiet at times, I don't feel he has ever been unapproachable or arrogant. In fact, I find him warm and honest. I have never felt guilted into spending money unnecessarily. I know he has my pets best interests at heart. I am always given an estimate before a procedure which I have the freedom to accept or decline if I so choose. I find the post below inappropriate. I don't feel it's fair to target someone's personal life for any reason especially on a site where people are rating him as a Doctor and not as a personal friend. Perhaps you took his quiet personality as something else?

The staff is fantastic and I do believe they really care about the pets. Dr Hill is very knowledgeable and also cares for the pets. Dr Hill has to work on his personality, he's not a very approachable person. If he's having personal problems away from work they are showing up in the office. Dr. Hill guilt's us into spending $$ on our pets.(or that's how it feels)

Dr. Hill and his wonderfull staff have been caring for my pets for the last 11 + years. I cannot imagine taking them anywhere else. I know how important it is to find the best care for our pets and for me I have found this at the Bloor Mill Hospital. So a big thank you to Dr. Hill and all your staff for your excellent care.

Had our dog's annual checkup with Dr. Ken. Our dog was very well looked after (doted upon) by staff members. Dr. Ken took alot of time with our dog and answered all of the questions that I had for him. He made recommendations for her dental care-things that we could do at home that would help our dog-even got a gadget to help clean her teeth. All in all a great appointment as our dog left just as happily as when she entered (even after 3 vacinnations).

We have been taking our dog to Bloor Mill Vet clinic since we got her. Right from the get-go the staff were very friendly with our dog and treated her like she was their own. As we are new to dog ownership it was great to see the staff be so kind to our new pet. Dr. Hill was very thorough in his exam of our dog and we felt confident that she would get great care. Would highly recommend Bloor Mill!

The vet or owner of this vet clinic thinks to highly of himself he's arrogant and doesn't care for the animal but jut finds ways to open your wallet to spend money my animal was miss treated and wasn't handled with care there's no follow up at all they refused to add me as a owner and refuse to call me even though I've told them to add me since the pet lives with me, there was a issue with surgeory had to go to emergency clinic to fix the problem and dr hill did not answer my messages for a month then called my gf to tell me he refuses to call me since I'm not on the records, all in all I rather go to the dentist everyday for the rest of my life before I go back there again, if you love your pet think twice about going here!

Very caring clinic. Staff are wonderful. They treated my pet like a family member which is important to me. Excellent followup care - they called me the day after I had my cats surgery to see how she was doing. Two thumbs way up.

Just took our pets there and were extremely disappointed with their poor followup, mismanagement of pet files, and uncaring attitude. Don't bother going there as they won't treat your pets well.

Been going to this vet hospital for over 5 years. Chose it because I called around and it was very good priced and the staff were very helpfull and caring. I didn't know this before but just like dentists there is a fee guide for vets. This vet charges much less than the fee guide (the invoices say 10%-40% less)and I know there are other clinics nearby that charge wayyy more. Overall, great value for the money. The owner Dr. Hill only recommends what is necessary and I appreciate that. There may be cheaper clinics in Toronto but you get what you pay for. If a vet clinic is real cheap it scares me (what shortcuts are they taking). I want the best care for my dog at a fare price and I get it here.

5 stars for Dr. Hill! He was such a wonderful vet. Too bad I was only able to take my dog to him twice and the second time was when we had to put my dog to sleep because his kidneys failed and it was too late. I wish I brought my dog to Dr. Hill sooner. He provided us with undivided attention. The cost of the check up was so worth it. He spent a long time checking every part of my dog's body. He was very honest to us. He provided us with a private room to spend our last minutes with our dog and allowed us to stay as long as we wanted. The staff were amazing! They really felt for us when we lost our dog. I just had a cat and I will get a puppy this coming weekend and I'm so glad that we found this amazing Vet. I know my babies are gonna be in good hands. I highly recommend Dr. Hill!

Came across this vet 3 years ago when moved to Etobicoke. Nothing but good things to say. Very nice people who care about my dog. I went to 2 other hospitals before finding this one. There prices are very good value and very fair compared to others I went to. Don't know what the last persons problem is. Not my experience. i highly reccommend this clinic.

The vet seems to think highly of himself, and charges you accordingly. It's an expensive clinic. I find them to be too "superior". There are more client-centric vets out there.

Excellent animal hospital. I called around to compare prices. This is not an expensive clinic. The fees are average and are very fair. They go the distance and you get good value for your money. I was very impressed.

The staff and vets here are incredible people. I can't say enough good things about this hospital. I have been taking my pets to Dr. Hill and his staff for over 15 years and they have always been kind, gentle, compassionate, honest and extremely fair with their pricing. The 1 negative comment below was obviously written by someone not in touch with reality. It's obvious that Dr. Hill and all of the staff care deeply about their patients and have dedicated their lives to their profession. I have seen the staff do everything they can to accommodate people who have limited funds. They do a lot of charity work and even won 2 bronze medals for raising funds for the Farley Foundation charity. I have faced difficult medical situations with my pets and they have always gone out of their way to save their lives. I have complete trust and faith in them and recommend this hospital without reservation and wouldn’t take my pets anywhere else.

Excellent staff, excellent veterinarians, quality care, although the costs of tests etc. is very high. The new vet, Dr Donna is the most compassionate,helpful, deligent vet we have EVER had. I would recommend her highly.
