I can't say enough good things about this animal hospital. I live in Toronto but the drive to Mississauga is worth it. I find that booking appointments are always hassle-free, and the staff are very kind and punctual! Dr. Agius is very compassionate and I'm glad to have her as my rabbit's primary doctor, especially since there are not many vets around who can treat exotics. She treated my rabbit for a jaw abscess and ear infections, and my dog for ear infections as well. One of my favourite things about this hospital is that they don't try to push unnecessary services on you to get more $$$ (like some other vets I've experienced in the past). Also, I love the overall atmosphere of this animal hospital. They put lots of care into celebrating and treating your pets like the important animals they are- from the personalized invoice notes, to birthday greeting emails, to the welcome signs in the examination rooms, and excellent friendly service!

I have been coming to this clinic for more than 30 years. I recently had to put my beloved cat Cali down. My vet is Dr. Melissa McPhee. Out of my love and respect for this incredible doctor, I am writing this review. She already knows how much I admire her commitment and compassion. She fought for Cali as hard as we did. My husband and I share a special bond with Dr. McPhee, mostly because of all we've been through together. She treats her patients as if they were her own, because of her deep love for animals. The day we had to let go of Cali, I would not have been able to get through it without Melissa being there. The three of us shared many tears that day. Soon, we will be adopting a new kitten and I look forward to bringing him to Dr. McPhee. I think the world of her and Burnathorpe Animal Hospital. Everyone is so caring and genuine. I highly recommend this clinic and Dr. McPhee.

My dog started to look very ill on Monday morning, so I rushed him to the nearest vet, Burnhamthorpe Animal Hospital, during my lunch hour. Knowing that I was on probation and on lunch, they kept me there for 45 minutes. Dr. Kristin Agius quoted me $500 to take x-rays and figure out what was wrong with my dog. Knowing that I could not afford that, she suggested ways in which I could take out a loan. I ended up doing x-rays and taking antibiotics. After my dog was not improving, she asked me to come back and hospitalize him on IV plus do bloodwork, ultrasound, repeat x-rays, and these diagnostics would cost in the thousands. She also charges $22 to write a prescription as "it is a service she is providing". It became very clear to me that Dr. Kristin Agius is a money grabber. I was also turned off when I walked into her room with a very sick dog and she was making comments about how I am bringing in a pony. Avoid this vet at all costs!

I took my pet Bruce Lee in this hospital and he nearly died. I only had Bruce Lee for about 10 days when he got sick; he could not pee. I took him to this hospital under the care of Dr. Kristin Agius. She gave him all sorts of medication but after 3 days he did not get better but worse. Dr Kristin Agius suggested taking him to an emergency hospital in Oakville for she claimed that there was nothing else she can do. The emergency hospital suggested doing some operation to remove the stone and the cost will be around $5,000.00. I called the breeder where I got my pup and told him what was happening and he was not convinced that a puppy that was only 11 weeks old at that time can have a stone; he suggested taking Bruce Lee to his vet. I took Bruce Lee to his vet and he gave him antibiotic injection. He did complete blood work and x-ray and he was cleared. No stone and everything were back to normal. In fact, when I took my pup there, he was only 8.8 lbs by the time I got him (3 days l

I took my cat here for all his shots and i ended up paying $195 for all his shots which is too much. I also got my cat neutered here and ended up paying $230 with tax. When I brought my cat here when he was sick they charged me $79.99 for a check up fee and $60 for the antibiotics and $30 for the pills (these pills help my cat to eat because he wouldn't eat anything) fee which is so high. I ended up paying for it thinking vet fees are supposed to be this high but i was wrong because I found another animal hospital which is a lot cheaper than Burnhamthorpe Animal Hospital. That hospital charges $58 for a checkup fee and only 135 to neuter a cat . I know this is a AAHA animal hospital, but the prices they charge for people are just ridiculous.. To all animal owners, please do your research on prices first before bringing your pets to a hospital.... The staff are very friendly, but I am just complaining about the prices.

We absolutely love this vet! We have been taking our golden here for his whole 15 years to see Dr Cameron aka Dr Cookie. He loves her and her and the other vets and support staff have been absolutely phenomenal in his old age. He was diagnosed with a tumor last summer and they still continue to follow up with us constantly almost a year later. I am not sure if they follow the OVMA fee guide, but I do not find them expensive at all, and understand a little more of what goes on behind the scenes in terms of pricing as I work at a veterinary clinic myself. Veterinarians and staff are extremely competent and compassionate, and we have had absolutely no complaints over our 15 years there. Great clinic!

I board my jack russel terrier Toby whenever we go on holiday and no longer feel guilty to leave him. He is so spoiled there that I actually think he is bored with us when he comes home! Once when I went to pick him up after a weeks holiday, he came running to me and gave me a kiss and then actually went and gave Josie the receptionist and one of his caregivers a kiss too. I think he is quite the little king of the castle among all the lovely ladies there. All of the vets and their assistants are very caring and thorough and you just know that they all really love and care about your beloved pet. I would highly recommend this clinic to anyone with their precious pets! Thank you to all who work here and make it a good experience for humans and their four legged children!!!

I have been bringing my pets to Dr. Cameron and her associates since 1986. Even when I moved out of the area, I didn't remotely consider finding another vet. Dr. Cameron has been beyond amazing. When my Old English Sheepdog needed a transfusion after his surgery, Fiona gave my Benny blood from her own dog. I've lost three pets in the time I've been seeing Dr. Cameron. Each time, my pets and I have been treated with utmost tenderness and respect. Any questions I had were always answered fully, clearly and patiently. I insist on having a rapport with any doctor with whom I deal, and developing one with Dr. Cameron was a piece of cake.

I am confident and pleased to recommend this clinic to anyone looking for a veterinarian.

What about asking about competence, quality of care and proper modern equipment? Burnhamthorpe Animal Hospital, run by Fiona Cameron and Tracey Bourdeau is a world class clinic with modern equipment and the highest of standards when treating a pet, this includes a technician monitoring vitals AT ALL TIMES during surgery and recovery. They have AAHA certification, something that can only be accomplished through the highest of standards. I would not dream of going anywhere else for my pets. They are the best!

I could just write GREAT VETERINARY CLINIC, but I have to comment on the bad reviews so far... I have been a client for several years and never had a problem. The doctors and technicians are very knowledgeable and happy to take the extra time to answer questions. I am not a wealthy person, but I love my animals and believe they deserve the best care possible. As was stated before, this is an AHAA accredited facility. Ask the staff what AHAA stands for. If you don't mind getting cheaper, mediocre animal care, go some place else.

As a handler for a Service Animal I rely a great deal on my canine partner in very demanding situations. In turn I demand the very best care for him (as with my previous canine partners). I can attest that at Burnhamthorpe Animal Hospital the doctors and staff have the very best interest of your animal companion at heart. They are professional, personal and caring. Willing to educate you on whatever ailment your animal companion may have and work with you to resolve it. In fact my service animals life was saved at this very hospital/clinic. As an indicator of their professionalism and dedication they are A.A.H.A. accredited. The American Animal Hospital Association is the only organization that accredits small animal hospitals throughout the U.S. & Canada. AAHA-accredited hospitals adhere to the highest quality standards, which helps ensure the best care for your pet. At Burnhamthorpe Animal Hospital the VERY BEST care is provided to your animal companion!

My 13 year old husky/collie has been a patient at this clinic since she was a pup. I am always impressed with the personal touch of Dr. Bourdeau and the attention to detail when prescribing medication and care instructions. Even though we now live in N. Ontario, the staff continue to provide us with great service, answer questions over the phone and make time for us whenever we make apts during our trips to Mississuaga. Keep up the great work!

I used to go to this vet when I first got my little pup. I went a few times and always hd a bad experience. They charge way too much and the worst part about it is they dont care for your animal. They are in it for the money. When I called other vets in the area, they were all about 40 - 50 dollars cheaper than what I was being quoted from Burnhamthorpe Animal Hospital.i would not reccomens these guys to my worst enemy.

It cost me 3 visits and $700 to cure my dog of a minor stomach infection. After loads of antibiotics and fake baby talk to my young boxer puppy who seemed healthy until then, they pushed the horrible vet food they have in there. I looked at the ingredients, barfed and chucked the whole unopened bag into the dumpster. What a waste of money. My new vet recommended I feed my boxer raw, never charges me for followups and thinks twice before he pushes drugs onto my boxer.

I was taking my cat to this vet for almost 20 years. When it was time to put her down, I never saw a doctor to explain the procedure. I chose to not watch the procedure. As I cried the last dew minutes with my cat, the receptionist came in and said "please close the door before you leave" I have never felt the same for them. Once I got another cat, she got bit by another cat and made sure Dr Melissa Mcphee was to be the doctor that would help my cat. She is a great doctor and very gentle to the animals. I DO NOT let my cat see Dr Cameron. I'm sure she is a great doctor but I do not warm up to her at all.

I have used Burnhampthorpe Hospital and Erin Mills Clinic for years. A week ago I had to make a very difficult decision to let my 17 year, 10 month Himi go across the Rainbow Bridge as he had very little quality of life. The vet and nurse came to the house and he left with dignity, alot of tears from both my husband and I and the vet and nurse. Yes, they might be a bit on the high end of the scale, but you get what you pay for. They are now looking after my new Ragdoll and I feel confident that they know what they do and treat all pets as their own. They also helped me out when our 16 1/2 himi left us two years ago, and again were compassionate about the welfare of the pet, not the owner. Can't say enough good things about them. They will make allowances for emergency visits too. I know that first hand. Please give them a chance to look after your pet, you will not be sorry.

After several visits we decided to go elsewhere. Very expensive. We saw different vets and they all seemed in it for the money only. The vets seem pretty full of themselves and are pretty fake. I strongly recommend you look elsewhere. We found a much better clinic nearby.

I have the utmost confidence in Dr. Fiona Cameron and in all of the other vets and technicians at this facility. I have dealt with serious health issues with my dog that have needed a referral to an oncologist and they have treated me with a high level of compassion and professional care. I have quite a few medical issues with both of my dogs and they always find a way to "fit me in" to the schedule. I highly recommend this animal hospital.

I have been taking my pets to this clinic for years and have always had a great experience. The veterinarians are all extremely nice and professional and treat your pet as if it were their own. In my opinion they practice really great medicine and there is never pressure to do any additional unnecessary procedures. They always give you options and discuss the pros and cons of each one. Sometimes they do run a bit behind schedule, but the wait is never long and is hardly anywhere near as long as what you would experience at your own doctors office. The support staff are friendly and very knowledgeable. One of the best in Mississauga and would recommend to anyone!

I was not pleased with my transaction with this vet. We were originally quoted a price for a spay and declaw. After the initial visit was done, the quote was $200 more then I was quoted. But I was assured that the initial visit, at $70 would be deducted from the total cost. So after the procedure was done, I was shocked to be presented with a bill that was still at the original price of $200 more then I was quoted, and I was also informed that the $70 was not going to be deducted from the total. It was a 'misunderstanding' among between the vet and the secretary. 'Something that had to be worked out' according to the Dr. I got the distict feeling that she was blaming the staff for giving me the wrong information. Anyways, we will not be going back to this animal hospital. Firstly for the pricing, and secondly because we were made to feel stupid and that we didn't think our pet was worth the money they were charging.

This is a wonderful hospital to take your animals! The staff and doctors treated all three of my pets as if they were their own animals; with care and compassion. I am shocked by the previous comment and find it a little contradictory that someone would go to a vet hospital for 15 years if they were really unhappy with the service. If you are looking for a hospital that practices top of the line medicine then Burnhamthorpe Animal Hospital is where you need to go. I highly recommend them.

I had been bringing my dog to Dr. Cameron for 15 years regularly and in his dying days, Dr. Cameron and her staff showed major lack of compassion and consideration. She does not come out to talk to you if you have questions, but rather sends her secretary to do the talking. Above that, I have a major problem with Dr. Cameron charging a $15 dollar fee for a written prescription. Many of these pills can be filled at a pharmacy for pennies while her clinic charges 50 dollars (or more). If you love your animal, take them somewhere else where they will actually care for them.
