On Nov 30, 2012, Dr. Karen Holmes refused to administer life-saving IV fluids to my 3-year Chihuahua Pomeranian named "Shorty." She has also victimized other pet owners, by overcharging them and when they cannot pay for her services, she offers to euthanize your pet. I filed a complaint with the Veterinary Medical Board, and forwarded the emails I've received from other pet owners. I am not hopeful that they will do something to her, as the rate of disciplinary action against Vets is very low. Some of the emails I received have actually lost their animals there, some lost up to three animals there. She has a contract with the City of Modesto Police Department to take in animals that are brought in after hours when other vets are closed. When the city will not pay for their treatment, she euthanizes the animals, depriving pet owners the opportunity to find their pet at a shelter. I am preparing a lawsuit for malpractice.
