During my cat’s hospital stay for CRF, Dr. Iburg failed to properly consider the effect of I.V. fluid therapy on existing anemia. Despite a PCV reading of 21% (below 30% indicates anemia), Dr. Iburg administered a second 3-day course of I.V. fluids during which my cat’s PCV dropped to 15% indicating severe anemia, necessitating a blood transfusion to save his life. Worse yet, Dr Iburg neglected to recommend an iron supplement.
Dr. Iburg now rarely directly interacts with clients, instead relying on “walk backs” in which your pet is examined without your direct feedback. When my cat was very ill she refused to give me a refill even one day early and would not return my calls. My cat died the day she finally agreed to give me a refill.
Dr. Iburg has average technical knowledge, will not return phone calls, and has a nightmare of a staff. Not recommended.
