Click to report rating    5/8/18   1     1     1     1   Over priced, Pat Scott is sloppy with paperwork, they cater to those who have $$$$ and mislead you on quotes. 700.00 for a neuter is outrageous! My cat had liver failure and diabetes. They claimed her condition was due to bad teeth. It wasn’t until I went to another vet, the truth came out about the condition my cat was really in. She RIP now. I do wonder, had this clinic caught the condition earlier, would my beloved cat still be here with me today? RID: 66092
Click to report rating    1/19/18   4     4     4     1   I took my cat here bc my regular vet was booked up and my cats eye kept watering and was getting gunky and I was concerned she may have had an infection. We saw Dr.Rachel and though she was extremely friendly (very chatty), all she really did was take a look in her eye, pull her lid back, say it was probably a virus which they don't prescribe meds for, to wait it out and see if it got worse. Literally in there for 10 minutes, bill was over $80!!! Are you kidding me??? That's over double what my regular vet pays! wasn't impressed by that at all. RID: 65403

10/17/17   1     1     1     1   Worst clinic I have ever been to by far. I brought my very sick 13 year old cat to this vet and was asked to do bloodwork. We were not given a price and at the end, came to a ridiculous amount. Pat Scott was the attending vet. Continuously ordered unnecessary tests and prescribed medications that did not work. Failed to inform us that our cat had kidney disease and was functioning with only 20% of his kidney(he only had 20% kidney function from our first visit). she had staff call every week to get new bloodwork instead of telling us he was dying from the beginning. She repeatedly changed his medications, each time there was more expense and no progress. My cat suffered horribly for close to a year, lost all his weight, becoming a skeleton. The last day we woke up to find him vomiting and passing blood, and still the clinic wanted to run "more bloodwork". They did not care about my sick cat and how he suffered. Money was the only concern. Never going back RID: 64859
Click to report rating    3/1/17   1     3     3     1   The receptionist misleads me for the price of dog neuter. Don't believe what they told you for quotation. The price gotta adds up to more than double of it during operation.$95 for per 10 mins. anaesthesia. I paid off >$600 instead of $330 for my dog neuter. RID: 62880
Click to report rating    2/16/17   2     2     1     1   Have used this clinic in the past but will never return with any future pet. Cat was brought in suddenly very ill. Vet examined cat and poked in area that must have hurt it very much. Cat took swipe at vet. Was told that it probably had a brain infection and was told to take it to an emergency neurologist at another facility. Ultimately cat was put down with huge expense the same day. Not a neurological problem at all. High potassium levels leading to ultimate kidney and heart failure. Vet at Lakeview suggested rabies was the issue and said she would be contacting public health and would involve quarantine of a very ill animal. Neurologist at emergency facility said absolutely not rabies. Lakeview clinic sent false records to the emergency facility stating that the cat hadn't been vaccinated since 2007. We hadn't gotten this cat until 2009!! Very upsetting experience all around. Find another clinic. RID: 62700
Click to report rating    4/2/16   5     5     5     5   I now have my 5th pet going to Lakeview. Wonderful and compassionate staff. Unfortunately both times my elderly pets needed to be euthanized the staff and vets supported and stayed with me and helped me till the day had come. Always caring and following up on my pets. I would highly recommend them, over the years I have worked with all of the vets and they are amazing and explain problems and issues as they occur in great detail. RID: 60200
Click to report rating    11/28/15   5     5     5     5   A few years ago, I was looking for a new vet and a co-worker recommended Lakeview Animal Hospital I'd fostered pets and had a couple of my own, so I'd been to quite a few vets over the years, but wasn't happy. Then I took the 'furry family members' here. I've finally found a place that I trust. The staff is friendly and they all genuinely care about the well-being of the animals. They always clearly outline treatment options and are competitively priced. With other vets I've visited, I felt as though they were going for the "cash-grab", but not here. I can't say enough about the care that my pets have received, and would recommend this vet to anyone. RID: 59101
Click to report rating    7/28/15   5     4     5     5   Friendly staff and doctors who are on time! We were impressed that the veterinarian took the time to discuss what she felt was going on with our pet She also explained the merits of the different tests she wanted to run and helped us to decide which ones were most likely to help us get an answer due to our financial limits. RID: 57850
Click to report rating    11/12/13   3     3     2     1   We were clients of this veterinary hospital since they opened and were quite happy for the first few years then slowly we found that Pat Scott, in particular, would order tests that were unnecessary and inconclusive and their prices were climbing, climbing and climbing. Also, we were told that dental surgeries were needed but we found out later that they were completely unnecessary and extremely expensive. Our new vet removed plaque right in her office in all of 5 seconds and didn't charge an extra penny. Lakeview would have anesthetized our pet at huge expense. In the end, after being gouged for many, many years I wrote to Lakeview and explained why we felt that we had no choice but to find another vet and basically got a response that said they simply did not care. So we have now found an extremely knowledgable, diligent and caring vet whose rates are quite reasonable. RID: 48216

9/29/13   5     5     5     5   I have been asked to justify the rating that I am giving to Lakeview Animal Hospital of Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. I gave the staff a rating of 5/5: How could I give less to the group of people who gave more life to my little girl than I could have on my own? To the people who loved her as much as I did? To the people who cried with me, who let me be a blubbering cry baby? The facilities are spotless. I have been through every inch of the hospital. Impressive. I recall being asked to wait more than once...a doggie came in making the most scary coughing noise, clearly in distress, wouldn't you wait? Another time the reason for the delay was heartbreaking...the couple who exited the exam room were in tears. I knew that they lost a friend. The delays that I've experienced were uncontrollable, and sad. Monetary value? What price would you place upon the highest possible quality of life for your best friend? Having taken that view point, and heard of costs at other hospital's RID: 47272
Click to report rating    4/18/13   1     3     3     1   They are only out for money. Their irresponsible staff didn't contact when the test result came back. When asked, they didn't know anything and didn't care either. RID: 41869
Click to report rating    2/21/13   5     5     5     5   Staff are extremely knowledge, friendly and helpful. They go above an beyond expectations on a daily basis. Facilities are clean, inviting and very well maintained. Doctors are respectful of scheduling and work hard to provide the best quality care while maintaining a punctual schedule. Overall monetary value is excellent - best quality care for reasonable prices. This is an outstanding clinic. RID: 40599
Click to report rating    2/15/13   5     5     5     5   The Vet does an excellent job at taking time to explain to the pet owner the who/what/where/why's of procedures and exams. She is a compassionate caregiver, and seems genuinely interested in what's best for our dog Justice. The rest of the staff is friendly and extremely helpful, and the facility is spotless! A++ RID: 40447
Click to report rating    12/15/12   5     5     5     5   Have been using this Vet Hospital for my multiple cats for years. Have seen all three vets. Yes, they are expensive but they have a large staff who have always been very helpful. I have never had a problem getting my cats seen when faced with an emergency situation. They assist local animal charities as well. RID: 39080
Click to report rating    4/11/12   2     3     3     1   I've been going here for years. lately they have all been about getting more cash. My cat has some issues, they prescribed multiple and said "one of these should work" without actually trying to diagnose the issue. Now my other cat has asthma, and for over 2 years I've been getting pills for him everytime it acts up (once a year), now for some reason they say they need to do a follow up checkup on him (even though we brought him in 6 months ago for something else) in order to get the prescription. MONEY HUNGRY VET!!! CAREFUL WITH THEM. Patricia Scott cant seem to answer any questions as well. Not sure where she got her license from, but I suspect they dont test too hard. RID: 33476
Click to report rating    11/29/11   5     5     5     5   I have dealt with this clinic since it opened and have taken my cats and dogs to all three vets over time. They've always taken the time to explain the recommended tests and treatments in terms I can understand, and have been very compassionate when my pets no longer have quality of life. I'm very satisfied with the care my animals have received and highly recommend this clinic. RID: 29461

12/13/10   1     3     3     1   I used this vet for quite some time. I actually had my cat put down here. Never questioned their prices or service until a friend of mine told me about their horror story with the same vet. They had been told their dog had cancer and were days away from putting it down. They had been treating it with visits and meds galore racking up the $$$ until a day before taking it in to put it down they found a skewer sticking out its side. Turns out this lump was no tumor but a build up of fluid due to puncturing. They clearly did not do a biopsy and lied! I could not believe it and thought back to my cat being put down there. They only offered a super expensive solution and thus we had to put it down. I always tell people to avoid them now... Scary stuff! RID: 21383
Click to report rating    8/25/10   1     4     3     1   VERY expensive! My cat was diagnosed wrong and after expensive bill had to go elsewhere to get proper care and make him well again. RID: 19399
Click to report rating    5/30/10   4     5     4     3   Doctors have always been attentive to my pets'needs. Compassionate and thorough with their care and often went the extra mile to help with my concerns. RID: 18176
Click to report rating    2/21/10   1     1     1     1   Way too expensive & inaccurate. My cat saw Dr Patricia Scott who examined him, told me no **** backup, just infection & prescribed antibiotics. Did this two days in a row & was charged over 500 dollars-no solution. When I could no longer afford to pay for daily examinations, they showed no further interest in my cat. Still sick, losing weight, went to emerg. Found severe blockage on examination, inflammation of the gastrointestinal tract. Remarks were made that whomever had told me he was NOT blocked up was incorrect. Don't waste your time with this vet. This is not a place that cares about animals. This is a business that cares only so long as you show them money. They have no idea what the status of my cat is, nor have they shown any interest. I get more followup when I take my car to the mechanic and it ISN'T ALIVE. I love my animal. This is a LIFE to me. Recommendation would be don't waste money here. Take your animal to someone that cares. RID: 16697
Click to report rating    3/19/09   5     4     5     1   EXPENSIVE! Critical of alternative diets - ie: raw. I guess that's expected when they are clearly big endorsers of "vet kibble" brands. Intro package is FULL of literature from companies that sell pet owners things. Price was out of this world for the spay of a 5 pound dog. Almost $1000 - with 2 X-rays of the mouth. RID: 12172
Click to report rating    3/7/08   5     5     5     5   The vets there are very gentle with our cats and always have time to answer any questions. They treated one of our cats that had a kidney problem that was terminal. They were so good with him all through his treatment right up until the end. I found their prices reasonable. RID: 7651
Click to report rating    1/20/08   3     3     3     1   Extremely expensive, like the ratings below suggest ... the groomer doesn't like grooming cocker spaniels. At the same time, she give customers "suggestions" as to the condition she would "like" the dog's fur to be when it arrives to her. In other words, her lazy demeanour demands the pet arrives at her in a certain way, fur ways. Extremely expensive charges for the "little" work she actually does on the pet. Besides the groomer, the vet charges are exorbitant compared to vets around. We are never going there! RID: 7033
Click to report rating    7/12/07   5     3     3     3   What a wonderful staff! The clinic is very small but clean and the vets are soooo gentle with my cats. I'm never rushed through a visit---they take time to listen to my comments/concerns, offer constructive advice, and send me away with a thorough understanding of my pets' health and how I can maintain it. Oh, and they give me free samples of food/dental care products/etc. I drive out of my way to visit this vet, but it's worth it for my peace of mind. RID: 5161
