I brought my dog in to be euthanized recently. Front office staff were busy laughing and loudly sharing personal stories when we checked in and when we were leaving. We were led to an examining room where we waited a considerable time for the doctor. Dr. Steed rushed in and out of the room more then once, treating the situation as nothing more than administering a vaccine. He reluctantly agreed to give my dog a sedative prior to the final euthanizing drug, even when I indicated he was stressed. His $50 consult consisting of opening the file and simply asking 'how is Chuckie doing'? After administering the drug, which he was prepared to do without even telling us what it was, he again rushed out of the room without expressing ONE word of sympathy. I will be forever regretful that I brought my dog to South Shores Animal Clinic on his last day here on earth. I cannot believe that a veterinarian, among all others, could lack the compassion and respect. This was truly a tragedy.
