My pet became ill and I could see that he needed to be put down and euthanized. I live in Los Banos CA. Our vet office which charges me $85 to euthanize my pet, provide a casket and be in attendance during the process closed before I could get there. I made the decision to drive over an Hour West to Watsonville to the Eastlake Animal Clinic. I have used their service in the past when I lived in that location. When I arrived I was then requoted a price of not $110 but $265 if I wanted to be in the room with my pet and an additional $22 for a pet casket. Their position on this action is that is there policy because they wanted to catharsize my pet and give him a sedative to relax him. My cat who was a member of my family for 14 years, was not agitated, barely moving lying quietly still. I refused the extra sedation, I refused the catheter and only wanted to be present I asked to have my $110 returned to me so I could take my pet to a clinic Dr Carroll REFUSED to refund me my money
