Took our 2 full-grown cats there for shots. They both still have their claws. The doctor seemed nice enough but when I mentioned that one of the cats was pretty wild, the assistant held my cat down in a death grip while the doctor gave the needle. My cat was scared and stressed at being manhandled like that. I said I would hold her and let her bury her face in my arms to keep her calm (as every other vet I have ever had has done) but she said I could not for 'liability reasons'. What liability reasons could there be from me holding my own cat? She was extremely rough on the cat in my presence - I can only imagine what she does to them in the back room when the owner is not there. I can appreciate that no one wants to get scratched or bit but it is possible to control a cat in a calm assertive manner without hurting it. I will never go back for that reason alone. Furthermore, after the shots, the other cat, the small, meek one, was sick and in a lot of pain with a bad limp for days.
