great clinic. conscientious about costs. all 3 vets and staff are great. switched from princess hospital because they are money hungry!! bayridge is reputable.

My dog was a patient at this clinic for over a decade. During that time she had lots of appointments...regular wellness check ups along with a cruciate ligament repair, two ear surgeries, one dental surgery and an eye surgery. The care was always professional and caring. Recently, she was taken to the clinic by my dog sitter when I was out of province. Unfortunately it was to be her last day as she died within 12 hours of being admitted (aggressive lymphoma). Her vet Dr. John Wilson remained in contact with me via phone during the day and although it was hard not being with her when she died knowing that John stayed by her side during that last night and gave her a peaceful death brings comfort. His care, compassion and concern for his patients...and their humans is a gift to all those who entrust their pets to his care. The staff is great...as are the other Vets. Truly a great animal care clinic.

John and his staff are amazing. I had to put my 2 year old bully down and it was very tough. John was compassionate and professionsl in a time of need. I am impressed with them and would highly recommend them to anyone who loves their pet.

I adore this vet. My cats have always seen Dr. Black and he is wonderful. My first cat was diagnosed with feline leukemia and the compassion shown by all the staff was remarkable. They would see her the same day when things weren't looking good. And sat with me discussing her options until I was prepared to make a decision (this appointment was no charge and merrily to help me come to terms). I felt no pressure to conduct any tests and felt everything was explained extremely well. She was ultimately put down and the staff was exceptional that day. Days later they sent a card and donated to a service in the animal in my name. I now now have two cats who are treated with such love and compassion. They know immediately who I am when I call and understand I am more anxious than others due to my history. They are wonderful at explaining everything they put into my cat and the reasonings behind it. This vet has always been supportive and never a negative experience.

I feel as though this Vet clinic cares more about charging you for tests and selling medication instead of using their knowledge of animal biology to determine what is wrong with your animal. It is almost like they are unwilling to make a diagnosis without telling you to do a $300 bloodtest that wouldn't infer any answers anyways. I understand that in some cases blood tests, xrays, biopsies are a necessary thing, but not for rudimentary diagnoses that only require a thorough exam and some knowledge of animal anatomy. Go somewhere else, unless you can afford $300 vet visits every single time you need to go

This happened a few years ago, but I digress; on an Easter Day, my mom hid all of those football chocolate eggs, and we would find them and put them in one big pile and share it all. Well, our Pit Bull, Jake got into all of the chocolate and ate ALL of it. He really enjoyed pigging out. That was until he started seizing uncontrollably and vomiting violently. Well my mom rushed Jake down to this animal hospital, and told them what happened. My mother told them, (crying) "I don't have the money now, but ill pay in installments. Ill even give you my drivers license until I pay you back" they told her they couldn't do anything for jake, and they would need the money first, and turned her away. My mother then had to rush to another vet hospital, and they too jake in with no problem. This just shows that they are in it for the money. No compassion toward animal welfare at all. Maybe they've changed since then, I don't know. I sure hope so.

I only have good things to say about this veterinary clinic! The vets are so kind and gentle. My family has been taking our pets to this clinic since I was a child and have only had extremely gentle, thoughtful and loving experiences. I remember as a child I had a pet rat that became very ill. I decided to have the rat put down and the vet treated him the same as any other animal- so gentle and caring. They also take into consideration that although we love our pets- money is not endless- and they respect that. They also have an excellent facility. The people working at the front desk are always friendly and welcome you and your pets with a smile.

Very caring clinic and staff. Will do anything to save your pet no matter what the cost! Very happy with their services and wouldn't trust anyone else with my beloved pets!

Although nice people, they take advantage of your love for your pet. Our 12yr old 100lb Golden Retriever, inexplicable broke his leg. The same leg Dr.Black performed surgery on the year before ($5000). We brought our dog in the next morning. Dr.Black felt his leg for 25seconds ($80) and determined it was broken. He said the prognosis wouldn't be clear until he did xrays and almost left the room to order them. I stopped him and questioned best case scenario. It took many questions before he finally said our dog probably wouldn't be able to fully recover from this. He said it could have been bone cancer but we couldn't be sure unless we did more tests. Seriously what's the point. Our beloved dog was euthanized and I will never step foot in that place again

I just had to pay 459 dollars for an ear infection.. After consulting other Vets in the area, it has been determined that my Dog did NOT need all the meds prescribed and was told by another bet, that if my dog gets ear infection again to use. Burosol from shoppers, it will clear up infection. I figured I got taken by this vet, and it has been confirmed by other bets in area.. I have been with them almost 15 years but their rates since adding Dr Wilson and Renos is way over priced

I had a horrible experience with Dr Black a few years back and have always felt while I might use him for routine shots that would pretty much be it. My dog had developed diabetes and had gotten quite sick and was admitted on a Sunday. Dr Black told me things would improve they just need to regulate his meds. I was suppose to meet him one night at the clinic to give my dog an injection, he didn't show after numerous calls I finally reached his assistant hours later and she did come. On the Friday just before Dr Black wanted to head out to his cottage for the weekend he told me I could take the dog home. The dog was not well and I felt despite what I was being told the dog was dying when I rush the dog back to his clinic later that same day he told me I would have to take him to Guelph, something I had offered to do on Tuesday but was told that wasn't necessary. Needless to say Friday was too late and my dog was humanely euthanized on Sunday. Horrible experience.

i switched to this facility because i didn't feel like i was getting gouged financially. The vets seem to appreciate that finances are not limitless even though people want the best reatment for their pets. I would definately recommend this animal hospital. The vets and front line staff are always friendly and approachable.

As you first walk in, you are always greeted with a friendly smile and always feel welcome. The doctors always take the time to fully answer my questions and concerns. They never do anything that is unnessary and take the time to explain everything they are doing. All the staff are very friendly and always happy. I wouldn't bring my 4-legged family members anywhere else!

You feel a genuine love for your pet when you walk through the door. The vets care about my dog and explain everything thoroughly and in a way I understand. The facility is newly updated with amazing ultrasound and other diagnostic equipment. Dr.Wilson and Dr. Black are so kind and calm and funny. The prices are compatible to other vet. clinics but I know there is better value in the excellent service I receive.

My dog has been a patient at this clinic for 5 years. Her first appointment was for an emergency appointment and I was so pleased with how she was treated by Dr. Wilson that I switched her records to this clinic. In the past few years she has needed ACL surgery, and two ear sugeries. Because of this she has been to this clinic much more than just for annual check ups. The front line staff are great as are the vets. Although Dr. Wilson is my dog's primary caregiver she has seen all the vets at this clinic and I've been pleased. This clinic seems to care about my dog...and also about me as her owner. Not only has she gotten good medical care but she has received kind and compassionate care. That means a lot to me.

my first visit was a very emotional one because I found out that my dog was very sick and another vet office passed it off as NORMAL. his teeth were falling out of his mouth, literally. they have been very understanding when money was an issue and don't force people to spend it when they don't have it. they are all about the animal and getting it healthy.

Dr. Black and Dr.Wilson are two of the most caring people i know. Excellent bedside manners and knowledge. They don't do unnecessary treatments, and call you back in an appropriate amount of time. They ar animal lovers and it shows in their work! The staff is friendly, and helpful, too. Your pet is very lucky to be a client of Bayridge Animal hospital!!
