We've been taking our cats and dogs to Animal Medical Center of Skokie for close to 20 years, maybe more. This is, hands down, the best vet clinic anywhere, anytime.
The vets - all of them - handle the animals (even the crabby cranky old cats) well. They take the time to listen to us AND to explain test/exam results in language I can understand. The vets consistently offer a variety of treatment options. They will provide state-of-the-art care, of course, but they've also offered less expensive or less invasive comfort care when it's appropriate. I've never, ever felt pressured to agree to a questionable treatment plan.
AMC's techs are also top-notch professionals.
The care here is excellent. If you take your pets here, be aware that you're receiving some of the best care available, and remember to say "Thank you!"

My boyfriend and I have been coming here for about a year now. We love the Dr's and staff at Animal Medical center!!! They are friendly knowledgeable and all around GREAT! I give them 5 stars because they deserve it! We have been to one other vet since having our dogs and it was a nightmare so we found ourself returning to Animal Medical Center.

Did not like them.After waiting an hour, the vet taped up my dogs ears so poorly that when she shook her head after getting off the table the posts went flying. I was so mad we just left.

This is a terrible place. Dr. Miz was neutering my 10 month old pup when the heart monitor went off. Instead of checking the dog, he checked the machine and my dog died. This clinic also at one point in their checkered past euthanized the wrong rottweiler. Yes, it's documented in the local newspaper from some time back. Stay away.

This is the worst vet I have ever been to in the 20 years I have owned pets. The staff was incredibly rude and didn't even bother to get all of the facts before trying to throw several different medications in my face. I have since found a vet that both I and my animals love. I wouldn't take my animals to Animal Medical Center if it was the last vet on earth. They are completely incompitant and their vet techs seem to have zero training.

This is a wonderful veterinary practice headed by Andrew Miz, DVM and his staff of four other veterinarians, plus vet techs, receptionists and kennel help. They are the most compassionate group of professionals that I have every encountered in the veterinary field. I have the utmost respect for this practice and have been taking my dogs and cats to Animal Medical Center for over 10 years. They are #1 in my book and to the other people that I have recommended this practice to.
