Click to report rating    10/26/11   4     4     4     4   I've been taking my rabbit to this vet. So far my rabbit has been spayed and treated for an abscess. I was surprised when Dr. Stern managed to completely cure my rabbit's abscess by draining it and prescribing an herbal creme. I would highly recommend Dr. Stern as a rabbit vet. The only downside is that she can seem rude with her admonishment of certain ways you might treat your pet, but she is right and has your pet's best interest in mind. RID: 28588
Click to report rating    2/3/11   3     2     1     1   The staff is nice but is never the same. The seats are ripped up and hair is on the floor. The doctor was late every time and my bill was way over what I paid at another vet after I left. RID: 22576
Click to report rating    11/24/10   1     3     2     1   I do not believe Dr. Stern should have the right to call herself an avian specialist...she knows less about parakeets than I do. I once took my parakeet, "Poopsie", to Dr. Stern for a problem and she took****sie in the back to give her a shot. When she returned****sie to me her feet were bleeding. The Dr. accused me of using sand-paper perches in her cage, which I had never done. I was so upset and****sie's feet had never bled before (or after that).****sie's other problem didn't get any better so I took her to another Vet. That Vet told me that the bleeding in her feet was a common symptom of an iodine deficiency (I believe, this was some time ago and that may not be the correct deficiency). It had nothing to do with anything I was doing (except feeding her a poor diet of seed instead of pellets). There are other qualified avian specialists in this area. I would recommend that anyone who has a pet bird stay away from Dr. Stern and go to a qualified avian specialist. RID: 21034

9/14/07   5     4     3     1   We brought our Holland Lop to Dr. Stern after a 45 minute wait she checked the weight, temperature, teeth, feet and genitals (she spent 20 minutes in total with us). She also took a sample of **** to see if there worms on it. I asked her if it was included in the examination, she said yes, after this she cleaned the glands of the bunny. Her consultation is $52 but we were charged $102 for (cleaning the glands $15 plus **** test $35). I complain to the receptionist since the doctor told us these services were included in the consultation. She went to ask the Doctor, the receptionist came back and said that the doctor asked us and we agreed for the “extras”. My impression is that she has good knowledge but it is not an honest person and not professional at all. I am not bringing my pet back to her. If you bring your pet expect to pay “extras” without notice. RID: 5898
