Click to report rating    12/28/11   4     5     3     5   Dr. Stern is an amazing doctor. Her ONLY focus is what is best for your animal companions. She hides nothing. She tells you the truth. She is ahead of the times. Yes, it is true that the staff changes often, your wait may be awhile, and prices are high (because it is a small practice, costs are higher), but I'm not looking for an animal hospital where you see a different doctor each time and is not welcoming. I'm looking for a doctor who's best interest is my animal companion, who's practice is small and welcoming, and where I see the same doctor each time. Dr Stern has saved my bunnies lives numerous times. I really wish she would see dogs for routine visits. RID: 30114
Click to report rating    10/26/11   4     4     4     4   I've been taking my rabbit to this vet. So far my rabbit has been spayed and treated for an abscess. I was surprised when Dr. Stern managed to completely cure my rabbit's abscess by draining it and prescribing an herbal creme. I would highly recommend Dr. Stern as a rabbit vet. The only downside is that she can seem rude with her admonishment of certain ways you might treat your pet, but she is right and has your pet's best interest in mind. RID: 28588
Click to report rating    2/3/11   3     2     1     1   The staff is nice but is never the same. The seats are ripped up and hair is on the floor. The doctor was late every time and my bill was way over what I paid at another vet after I left. RID: 22576
Click to report rating    11/24/10   1     3     2     1   I do not believe Dr. Stern should have the right to call herself an avian specialist...she knows less about parakeets than I do. I once took my parakeet, "Poopsie", to Dr. Stern for a problem and she took****sie in the back to give her a shot. When she returned****sie to me her feet were bleeding. The Dr. accused me of using sand-paper perches in her cage, which I had never done. I was so upset and****sie's feet had never bled before (or after that).****sie's other problem didn't get any better so I took her to another Vet. That Vet told me that the bleeding in her feet was a common symptom of an iodine deficiency (I believe, this was some time ago and that may not be the correct deficiency). It had nothing to do with anything I was doing (except feeding her a poor diet of seed instead of pellets). There are other qualified avian specialists in this area. I would recommend that anyone who has a pet bird stay away from Dr. Stern and go to a qualified avian specialist. RID: 21034
Click to report rating    6/28/10   5     4     4     3   i think the staff is great. dr.stern is good... she just is all about business in what she does.. caring for animals.. the tech's were excellant! i could tell the girl carrie really liked what she did. the vet did services for me which she did not charge and i didnt even ask for!! they were through and answered my questions.. i felt very comfortable there in talking to the staff about my cat. the vet said i could call anytime if i had a problem with my cat! i love their approach in holistic medicine and i will use it in my cat.. they educated me on it and i think its great! this is my vet office now!!!  9/14/07   5     4     3     1   We brought our Holland Lop to Dr. Stern after a 45 minute wait she checked the weight, temperature, teeth, feet and genitals (she spent 20 minutes in total with us). She also took a sample of **** to see if there worms on it. I asked her if it was included in the examination, she said yes, after this she cleaned the glands of the bunny. Her consultation is $52 but we were charged $102 for (cleaning the glands $15 plus **** test $35). I complain to the receptionist since the doctor told us these services were included in the consultation. She went to ask the Doctor, the receptionist came back and said that the doctor asked us and we agreed for the “extras”. My impression is that she has good knowledge but it is not an honest person and not professional at all. I am not bringing my pet back to her. If you bring your pet expect to pay “extras” without notice. RID: 5898
Click to report rating    8/5/07   5     5     4     4   This vet is great! The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and really care about your animals. Dr. Stern has a range of abilities (holistic, surgical, etc) and is very conscientious and thorough with my pets, in addition to having a great rapport with them! RID: 5488
