Click to report rating    4/22/19   5     5     5     5   We travel over 1 hour to see Dr. Matz and would and the future travel even further to see her. Dr. Matz is kind, compassionate, honest and amazing with her diagnostic and treatment abilities. By far the BEST vet I have ever encountered. Yes, for those of you complaining she is late, she does run late sometimes but that is because of the amount of time she gives to you and your furbaby explaining everything and answering your questions and concerns in language we all understand and NOT medicalese! Exceptional does not even begin to describe her. I am so thankful I was referred to her and will always bring my guys to her and REFER her to anyone looking for a Veterinarian that provides EXCEPTIONAL and COMPASSIONATE care at a more than fair cost. Unlike some other vets I have encountered she is more concerned about YOU and YOUR FURBABY than she is about $$$$. Absolutely admire and am thankful for her! RID: 67937
Click to report rating    6/1/18   5     5     5     5   To everyone who is crying about DR Matz being late to her (your) appointments, You should take into consideration the time it takes to not only examine your (or anyone elses) pets thoroughly as to not miss anything and the time it takes for her to explain things to you to make sure YOU know whats going on. Would you rather have her rush the exam and then not make sure you have a good understanding of your pets problems and issues? I am sure she would love to spend 15-20 minutes with each pet and move on to the next and not have to worry about them anymore like a lot of Vets in CT but she cares so much about the pets health, she just cannot and wont do that. Also, as a top tier Vet in the state, she has a very busy practice filled with people who understand this and know its part of the cost of getting the best care they can for their beloved pets. But, If a few hrs. your time a few times a year is worth more than your pets health, maybe pet ownership isnt for you? RID: 66247

10/24/14   5     5     5     5   My dogs have been seeing Dr. Matz for years. She has seen us though cancer, heart disease, stoke and behavioral issues. I always had a pack of dogs and have seen many caring vets, but none better than Dr. Matz. There are complaints that she is late. Yes she is and always will be -- because she takes her time with every patient. She will take the time she needs with your pet and if she's late to the next appointment she doesn't worry. Your pet will get the amount of time necessary. She does not order unnecessary tests and explains why she wants to do each one. She does not hesitate to refer you to other specialists including Tufts Teaching Hospital. They all know and speak well of her. She works for a number of rescues and they always know the best vets. I'm glad she's expanding her practice so more people can go there for excellent pet care. RID: 54270
Click to report rating    3/6/13   5     5     5     5   Dr. Matz has been our vet for YEARS! We are a medical family and we know what the practice of good medicine looks like and Dr. Matz has EVERYTHING an excellent vet should have and more. Anyone who says anything to the contrary is a fool. She spends time with each pet making certain that he/she is in good health with no problems on the horizon. She cared for my critically ill pet with skill and devotion and when it was time to say good-bye, shared our grief for his loss. She is ALWAYS available to her patients and has spent time with us on days when any other vet would be home with their families celebrating the holiday!I can't say enough about this very good woman and her wonderful husband who have always been there for us when we needed her. Click to report rating    8/21/12   1     1     1     1   I have several reasons for hating this place. First and foremost, my dog was very ill a while back. Even though it was clearly genetic, her response was to put him through months of expensive tests and painful treatments to make my dog suffer. Not to mention this put thousands of dollars in her pocket. So much for LOVING THE ANIMALS. Then another thing. She's ALWAYS late. ALWAYS. She always says it's an "emergency." If there's ALWAYS an emergency, why not work that into her schedule? Then the building is a filth-hole. So when you have her do house calls, she shows up when she FEELS like it and not at the appointment time, just like in the office! The office staff are bluntly rude and when you've been sitting there waiting for Matz (she's probably three hours late), the office staff ignores you and acts like they're so stuck up. Then again, that's what you get when you go to a vet who claims to "LOVE THE ANIMALS." SHE MADE MY DOG SUFFER AND WASTED MY MONEY. NEVER GOING BACK. RID: 36725
Click to report rating    6/22/12   5     5     5     5   Dr. Matz's office staff is the best around and Dr. Matz is the kindest, gentlest and most professional vet I've brought family pets to in many years...very glad to have been introduced to her. RID: 35148
Click to report rating    6/6/12   5     5     5     5   We Love, Love love Dr. Matz, we got to know her and her Husband back when they would travel to you, Now that they have the place in Cheshire they seem to have taken off. They have so many Patients that yeah, sometimes you will wait for your appointment past the time it says on your appointment card but why should a vet visit be any different than a visit to your Dr? or Dentist? She is great, as is her staff, she calls you and follows up with you, shes really concerned with your pets health, and she takes the time to get to know you and your pets. She even opened up for my dog Sam on Christmas Dec. 24th one year to mend a wound on his leg. I cant say enough good things about her, which is another reason we drive from Oxford to Cheshire to go to her office. And my pets dont seem to mind her poking, prodding, giving shots...lol well, except for Sam, he doesnt like getting his nails clipped! RID: 34805

Her staff is very accomodating. My dogs get the best treatment and she is very consistant with her follow up calls. Dr. Matz helps take the worry out of any situation. My dogs love her and are very comfortable with her staff. RID: 28251

10/9/11   5     5     4     5   Dr Matz and her staff have to be the best around! We love her and wouldn't go any where else Her staff is always helpful and caring. You are treated like family when you go there. RID: 28178
Click to report rating    9/1/11   1     4     1     3   Dr Matz is great but the guy who works the front desk is rude and a total jerk. He has god syndrome. If she wasn't so good I would leave this practice in a heart beat. RID: 27330
Click to report rating    4/25/11   5     5     5     5   Her examinations are very thorough and she takes the time to completely answer any questions that you have. She also takes the time to build a rapport with my dog - a toy poodle. She also has a genuine love of dogs and it is evident in the way she interacts with them. Her office has lots of parking and is spacious and comfortable. RID: 24606
Click to report rating    12/21/10   5     5     4     5   Have you ever known a dog that happily goes into the Vets? Dr Matz is the best vet we have ever been to and we've had many pets over the years. Yes, sometimes you have to wait to be seen but that's because she doesn't walk away from a patient until she makes sure all is understood by the owners. She follows up with phone calls and is always available for a question or concern. Dr Matz shows compassion for the animal she is treating and the owners also. Her staff wonderful and friendly. I would highly recommend Dr Matz and her staff to anyone. RID: 21545
Click to report rating    9/15/10   5     5     5     5   Dr. Matz was very thorough in evaluating my cat's medical condition. I was more than happy with her handling of my pet to make her comfortable during the exam and was pleased with her knowledge and suggested treatments for my cat's condition. This was the first visit for this cat but will soon be bringing my 3 other pets for evaluation and treatment by Dr. Matz. This is a top notch facility that truly cares about the welfare of you pets and their owners. RID: 19748
Click to report rating    7/5/10   5     5     5     5   I have a dog with obsessive compulsive disorder. She had me bring in a video of Nikki and spent a lot of time with her, observing and interacting. She's worked with the vets at Tuft's and is knowledgeable about behaviors and behavioral medications. She drew blood by sitting on the floor and not scaring Nikki by lifting her onto the table. I am REALLY impressed. She's not close to me, but I'm thinking all my dogs should go there because she's so good with them and very thorough. Her husband helps her and he's very gentle and patient. I'd say she's the best vet I've ever been too and at my age with the number of pets I have that's saying a lot. RID: 18657
Click to report rating    3/2/10   5     4     5     5   Dr Matz was recommended to me by a few friends whos dogs were very skitich about going to the vet in a car. She arrived on time at my house was very good with my dog. When my friends dog passed away, Dr. Matz was on the road, but still took the time from her busy schedule to call her up a talk to her about her dog passing. I have refered many friends to Dr. Matz, she and her staff are wonderful people. She worked out a great price for us when our dog needed surgery. RID: 16845
Click to report rating    10/28/09   5     5     5     5   Dr. Matz and her staff are the best!! They are compassionate, caring and friendly. They are prompt to return calls. Dr. Matz has sat on my living room rug many times, being patient with my dogs and making them feel comfortable with her. When she comes, it's not an in and out thing. She takes her time to make sure everything is covered and when she leaves, you have an understanding of what you pet is going through. Thank You Dr. Matz & staff!!! RID: 15081
Click to report rating    10/8/09   5     5     5     5   If you are looking for a vet who not only cares about your animal, but is also VERY thorough, Dr. Matz is the vet for you. This woman is amazing, often calling well beyond normal business hours, and believe it or not, she does house calls! RID: 14580
Click to report rating    8/31/09   5     5     5     5   Angel. She's an absolute angel! The best. Dr. Matz is curious and won't let a tough diagnosis go until she figures it out. Her staff is the most compassionate I've ever met. They truly love animals (which is what I'm sure led to the house call protocol -- it's not so traumatic for our best friends). To the person who said she was late -- it's likely because she was dealing with an emergency. She has come to our house within 30 minutes when we've needed her ASAP. She'll be opening a new office soon & I wish her the best of happiness and success. Dr. Matz, Norm, and Kris are the BEST!!! RID: 14067
Click to report rating    6/25/09   5     5     5     5   I have been through several vets, and Dr. Matz is by far the best I have ever dealt with. She really cares for the animals. Thanks Dr. Matz! RID: 13297
Click to report rating    5/14/09   5     5     5     5   The is no better vet than Kristine Matz- I've known her for years- she always returns my calls no matter what time of day or night. My cats love her and she truly cares about animals. She doesn't waste your time or money - She has the best staff that is always there for you. Dr Matz comes right to my house and elimates the stress my cats suffer traveling in the car. If she's late, she calls and I know she's with someone else who needs her. She's hardworking, caring, compassionate and has a husband who travels with her that equally cares. RID: 12786
Click to report rating    3/8/09   3     2     1     1   Although the care that's given is good, she is consistantly late arriving for appointments. One time over 2 hours late, the next over 1 1/2 hrs late. She alright in a pinch but keep your regular vet unless your time is not valuable. RID: 12024
Click to report rating    2/26/09   5     5     5     5   Dr. Matz is a superb vet. She cares about her customers and their animals. She is always there when you need her and willing to help. I recommend her for everyone that cares for a pet. RID: 11842
Click to report rating    6/25/08   5     5     5     5   Dr. Matz has taken care of my dog for years. I could never imagine trusting anyone else. She is so thorough, so up to date, so compassionate. Her 'bedside manner' is something you would wish your own doctor could have. She obviously believes in what she does. She does not waste your time like some vets will do. She wants to make your pet better now, not after 5 visits. My dog is big and arthritic and her house calls have been a life saver. I could never transport him as often as would be needed. He actually knows the sound of her car and will wait by the door with his tail wagging just so he could give his "girlfriend" a big wet kiss. I have recommended Dr. Matz and the entire staff at Animal Medical Care of CT without hesitation for years and will continue to do so for as long as I know people with pets! Thanks Dr. Matz- for everything you do- you truly go above and beyond. RID: 9025

Click to report rating    2/9/08   5     5     5     5   Dr. Matz is a fantastic vet. She works well with both dogs and cats. She is caring and compassionate and goes the extra mile. I have referred many people to her. RID: 7251
Click to report rating    1/3/08   5     5     5     5   I can't say enough good things about Mr. Matz, she is the BEST! I wouldn't trust my animals with anyone but her. My animals love her and it truly shows that she loves animals. She is compasionate and is willing to go the extra mile when it comes to animal care. I highly reccomend her to everyone! She is a true gem! RID: 6838
Click to report rating    12/16/06   5     5     5     5   Dr. Matz is amazing and any pet in her care is lucky to be in her service. She is attentive and caring. She acts like a doctor should when a patient is sick: staying at the office late, calling you on her personal time to check in or give test results, and doing whatever possible to care for your pet. I was referred to Dr. Matz by a relative and am truly grateful for everything she has done for my cat. RID: 1305
Click to report rating    10/31/06   5     5     5     5   Dr. Matz is the greatest vet in the world. She's caring, very friendly, and truly loves her job. She even does house calls!!! RID: 362
