I have taken both my cat and dog to Black Rock Animal Hospital a few times and have been increasingly alarmed at how the Vet treats my animals, his assistant and his clients. He can be very rude, doesn't even try to put the animal at ease and, even worse, is often so tense and rough with them that my animals freak out like I've never seen before. At first the problems weren't so apparant which is why I went back to them again. And in all fairness, this Vet does appear qualified. The actual quality of surgical services and emergency pet care is adequate, not to mention more reasonably priced than most other Vets in the area. Also, his full-time assistant is very good with both the animals and clients. However, the vet clearly does not enjoy the animals (or possibly his profession). I would rather pay a little more for a Vet who truly cares and treats my animals with compassion. I cannot put them through that stress again.
