We have for years taken out pets to Chippens Hill Vet. and they have been excellent. Dr. Elliot has even come to our house to treat an old cat we had as she got stressed out by so many visits to the vets due to her illness and age. They do suggest certain supplements but it is our choice to give or not give them, so far they have helped our animals by giving them certain food and supplements but it is a choice you have to make. Pets cost money so if you do not want to pay out just do not get pets, once you take them you are responsible to give them the best care you can. I have declined some tests also for one of our cats who has a heart murmur, we feel he has a full life and a very good life and his condition has not changed over the last 4 years at some point tho as with anyone who gets old it will change. I trust Chippens Hill and I love Dr. Elliot.

I beg to differe with the previous review...they ARE costly and push unecessary procudures. furthermore, they failed to diagnose a disease in my pet who they found in perfect health 4 months before. All of a sudden, my dog had less than a year to live...we were shocked and devastated to say he least. Our pet died within 24 hours of being diagnosed. I do not find the staff to be compassionate in the least..the only exception being some of the technicians. I DO agree with the reviewer in that old canal is even worse and I would never bring any of my pets there.

We originally chose this practice because they are NOT associated with Old Canal, a company that operates several local practices under different names. While costs are not necessarily cheap, the vets may suggest, but do not push costly, extraordinary procedures and will work with you to provide appropriate, conservative care. The staff and Dr. Sweet were wonderfully caring and compassionate when we had to put our 15 yr. old Lab to sleep. They went the extra mile for us.
