Click to report rating    11/10/23   1     2     2     1   Not enough Feline smarts for me! In less than 5 years the veterinarians that knew felines left the clinic. We needed better. RID: 70905
Click to report rating    10/16/13   1     1     1     1   Please NEVER take your pet here! We took our dog in because he had blood in his urine. They did blood work, urine analysis, and X-rays. They said the X-ray was clear and diagnosed a bad bladder infection. He was on strong antibiotics. A few days later the blood was back. We took him in where they repeated tests and did a bladder culture and were checking other organs with ultrasound. They again claimed it was the bladder infection. They sent us home with different antibiotics. The blood was back and worse within 3 days. I called and spoke to a very rude tech who implied I wasn't taking care of our dog and did not let me talk to the vet. She told me the bladder culture was negative and she didn't know what they would do from here but insisted I bring him in. We had already spent $1100. I refused and took him to another vet. We then knew in 2 days time that he had a kidney tumor and large blood clot in the bladder. They should have saw both on the X-ray and ultrasound! RID: 47662

1/4/12   5     5     5     5   This is the best animal hospital I have been too; I wish I would have been told about this place when I moved here. Dr. Bailey is a wonderful vet and I am very happy with the services we have been provided by you all. RID: 30274
Click to report rating    12/10/11   4     3     2     2   The staff is very friendly at Waxhaw Animal Hospital, and they seem to care about your pets. However, you frequently have to wait a long time. Also, when you call you cannot ever actually talk to someone because there is a stupid phone tree. I have been going there for years because it is the closest to me, and every year they have a different vet. This is not a good sign, and it's hard because there's not one vet that really knows my dog. RID: 29747

10/26/11   5     5     5     5   The waits are usually long but it is totally worth it. The doctors are there for you and your pet only and not just the money, the staff is not a nightmare and it doesn't stink like a bunch of wet animals. Waxhaw is great! RID: 28608

Click to report rating    8/20/10   5     5     4     4   I have taken my pets here for over 6 yrs and they always take good care of them. I am always treated well by the staff, although there are times I have to wait more than 1/2 hr. When I have an emergency they always find time. Dr. Burtis always takes a conservative approach rather than order up 10 expensive tests. She listens to my concerns and explains things well. I trust them with my beloved pets. Waxhaw also rescues animals at times and helps animal rescue groups. I aooreciate everything they have done for me over the years. RID: 19328
Click to report rating    4/26/10   1     1     1     1   I will never take may animals to Waxhaw Animal Hospital again! I brought my Lab here to have a tumor removed (NOT biopsied) from his leg and after two visits, one for the checking him out and starting him on antibiotics and the next visit for the removal it ended up costing us $800. I just brought my other dog (5 yr old mix) in to get her shots up to date (she was not much over a year out of date) and it cost me $200. This place is out to make as much money as they can no matter what you go in there for. BE AWARE!!! RID: 17688
Click to report rating    1/27/09   1     1     1     1   I had a terrible experience with Waxhaw Animal Hospita! Don't waist your time and money. I called 3 times throughout the day for a technician or vet to call me about my ill, 12 year old dog. No one called and I finally took her to another facility and we had to put her to sleep. I requested my dogs x-rays to take to the other vet before I left, but they would not give them to me. It makes me wonder if they even took x-rays because I never saw them. The technician told me the reason why no one called was because they were too "busy" yet there was no one in the waiting room!!! RID: 11380
Click to report rating    6/2/08   1     1     1     1   Do not take your animal to Waxhaw Animal Hosp. My dog has been through various doctors there in the past 2 years. I have taken my dog there 3 times in the last 2 weeks with complaints of vomiting and bowel issues. 1st visit the vet claimed it was just diet, and to watch him. We took him back 2 more times and they did one x-ray which they claimed showed that nothing was wrong and that he did not need a barium series. Every time I called waxhaw animal Hosp. the vet never spoke with me only the vet tech would call. Within the 2 weeks I was taking him there he lost 10lbs. None of this phased them. I found a new vet, who within three hours, diagnosed him and he is now going for surgery tomorrow. When I went to Waxhaw to get his records & get loan out his x-ray the Vet was rude to me and would not loan out his x-ray. This has been going on for 2 wks and the VETS as waxhaw just did not care about my dogs health. Be wary of them, my dog suffered too long without being diagnosed. RID: 8668
Click to report rating    8/8/07   1     1     1     1   This has got to be the WORST animal hospital there is. Unable to keep vets on staff for very long. Rude front desk personel, that could care less for the sick animals or their owners. This animal hospital has made NUMEROUS mistakes resulting in quite a few unnecessary deaths over the last few years since moving into their new facility. RID: 5534
