I have gone to Niles Animal Hospital for 16 years. Dr. Sakas always goes the extra mile, never rushes me and explains and discusses everything. Yes, sometimes there is a wait, but it's hard to predict emergencies, and I'm glad for the attention when I'm the one having the emergency. Dr. Sakas has gentle and kind, and Niles Animal Hospital is an amazing place.

We have complete trust in this fine staff of professionals and have taken many pets there over the years. Dr. Don Staunton is an exceptional surgeon and very patient with questions and concerns. The entire staff is caring and compassionate, and fees are more than reasonable. Jim Joy

An outstanding staff of professionals who really care about animals and their owners. Dr. Don Staunton is the best surgeon and diagnostician on the planet. And Dr. Sakas is an awesome avian specialist. Fees are at the norm for the area.

Dr. Sakas is a very nice man, but he isn't very clear on communication and right now, I think he's taking me for my money as we have talked at length regarding same. The staff is terrible at times and miscommunication has led me to change vets. My cat is still ill and there's no end in sight.

I wish I could say better things about this place. It is true they are living off past reputation because the quality of their services did decrease greatly when I stopped bringing my bird there. Dr. Peter Sakas is a very nice, caring man but he employs incredibly outdated methodology on advanced treatment (such as feather pulling or more serious illness). I found myself running in circles when I used to bring my bird here repeatedly with no true progress. The last time I went here I waited 1.5 hours for my appointment and was way overcharged for medicine that did not work. The other vets here seem to have very limited knowledge of non-typical species. One woman vet called my Eclectus female a HE twice before I corrected her. (To those that know the Eclectus, it is impossible not to know a female from a male as the females are predominantly red and the males green). I had to look for other options simply because of the dated approach here. Sorry.

They overbook, and are living off of past reputation of being good bird/exotics vets. They have gone down hill in the past several years. Sorry, I really wanted to be loyal to them, but they are NOT THAT GOOD, other vets in the area are better.

I brought my german shepard to Kelly Kostuch DVM and she was VERY nice, she was really well informed on lymes diseases. My dog was really sick and she made me and my dog feel better right away. She spent time with me to answere all of my questions even though you could tell she and the hospital are really busy. I heard I would have to wait, so I brought my book and they offered me tea and candy. Totally worth the wait and my dog is happy and playing again! She is great!would highly recomend Kelly.

this is a popular place and rightfully so. peter sakas dvm is amazing (speicializes in birds). the staff is friendly. location convenient, etc. but be prepared to wait. understandably they have emergencies and get backed up, however from my perspective it is well worth it, particularly if you have a bird you want to bring in. trust your avian friends to no one else!!!
