10/16/19   1     2     1     1   I was referred to Pieper by my vet for my 12 year old Golden Retriever, diagnosed with a nasal tumor. We all knew the outcome, but, at the suggestion of my vet, we took him to Pieper’s Oncology Department anyway. When someone in my vet’s waiting room heard them tell me to go there, she whispered “don’t do it, go to Norwalk.” I didn’t listen and made a huge mistake I have to live with for the rest of my life. At Pieper, we were greeted by unfriendly receptionists. We were seen by Dr Ho, who felt it may be possible to extend his life six months, making it easier for him to breathe at night, basically not be in much pain, and have a decent six months ahead. We knew, as she explained, it was just a hope and nothing set in stone. It could be less than six months but we thought we’d give our beloved Norman a chance. We decided on chemo vs radiation because of his age. Before his treatment, I had a question and sent her an email as well as called Pieper twice. No one ever returned my call eve RID: 68646
Click to report rating    2/6/19   5     1     1     1   ONLY ONE DR THAT IS WORTH SEEING AT THIS VET - DR SARAH LORD - NO ONE ELSE WILL EVER TOUCH MY ANIMALS. DR LORD IS EXCEPTIONAL AND HAS TRUE HEART / COMPASSION / PROFESSIONALISM. I WILL COMMENT AGAIN SHORTLY, BECAUSE I HAVE A CASE PENDING AND SO FAR THE OUTCOME LOOKS VERY POOR ALONG WITH BEING HORRIBLY NEGELENT RID: 67319
Click to report rating    9/21/18   1     1     1     1   Completely profit driven. You wait up to two hours to be seen. I believe there are some competent caring vets there but they are trained to push for all the services and test possible. Front staff tattooed, flirting with each other and cold and uncaring or checking out stiletto high heel boots on computer. Massive push for the most services. Technique used to try and push on extra services is one used by salesmen for years to sell cars. This place is owned by a corporation and the staff there is trained to push for profit and sell, sell, sell. I am all for a decent vet to earn a good living and I gladly pay for whatever my cat needs but these people are cut throat pirates. Dr. Piper must be spinning in his grave. RID: 66810
Click to report rating    8/16/18   1     4     4     2   Call in and always go on hold. I've been holding 20 minutes and counting as I write this. If this was the first time I wouldn't complain but this is business as usual for this place. The Docs are pretty good but the customer service sucks. They've replaced compassion with a cash register and their service is non-existent. I understand they're on a buying spree and acquiring more vet practices as they retire. I believe it will get worst before it gets better RID: 66657
Click to report rating    4/19/14   1     1     1     1   I am using their computer ("courtesy internet access") to type this. Been here about 2.5 hrs. Had no acknowledgement as of yet. Filled out paperwork on my own to ensure my dog gets seen. Still waiting...very poor customer service..not expecting much from the doctor. *fingers crossed* RID: 51117
Click to report rating    9/10/12   3     4     3     2   I'm not sure these vets really know what their doing. They check your dog out and don't really know whats wrong so they guess. xrays blood work ect. and they can't figure it out. So they tell you what they think it is, give him some pills and get you on your way. they never call to check and see how their doing. Just take the money and run. They have done this to both my dogs. I'm done with them. RID: 37096
Click to report rating    7/18/12   3     4     1     1   Emergency Room - they will charge you a fortune and really do nothing for a pet, just keep him alive until your regular vet takes over.. the worst experience in my life! 3 doctors supposedly checked on my dog in 24 hrs? and really did nothing except expensive Xrays every couple of hours.. 700$ down, and they suggested to put her to sleep! I took her home, brought her to a different vet on Mon, and he operated on her successfully.. that speaks volumes of the professionalism and care of the Piper Memorial Vet Center's doctors.
