Click to report rating    5/24/23   1     1     1     1   I am a long time pet mama who has trusted Bloomingrove for years. I had a last minute appointment to bring my cat in for the first time due to a sudden health concern. I saw a Dr I am not used to but was not concerned initially as I had only great experiences with other doctors. My cat was handled abusively, threatened to be put down if she reacted in fear of mishandling by scratching or biting, would not give a rabies shot, and verbally explained she was too 'feral' to work with. I left in tears and explained the lack of help and care to one manager prior to leaving. This manager no longer recalls this convo. I went to a new vet for help since they did not provide me with details. I called back explaining the other vet WAS able to have a calm appt, asking for refund of $470 bill for nothing. They claimed testing was completed but could not confirm results, still. They slandered other vet. Banned me from their office, no refund has been received. Full review on their FB. RID: 70705

12/12/14   5     5     5     5   As a person who cares deeply about their animals, Bloomingrove has been the obvious choice for my family, of pets and children. I have had visits with all of the Doctors, all passionate and caring. The facility is absolutely stunning, and despite the amount of animals it always smells clean. The reception and technicians are all very helpful! I would recommend this to anyone, if you want passionate staff, clean environment, and fair prices Bloomingrove is the way to go. RID: 54999
Click to report rating    7/21/14   2     5     2     3   Someone in that office has a control issue and needs to stop making signs. There is a sign that says something like "do not put faxes on this table, do not line faxes up here, faxes should never be left on this table, do not move this sign." In order to leave you have to wait in a waiting room and wait to be invited to the check-out counter. I have been to numerous doctors and have never had to sit in a waiting room to LEAVE. You know you have to wait in the waiting area because there are about a dozen signs letting you know you should 'NOT APPROACH THE COUNTER" "DO NOT COME NEAR THE COUNTER" "STEP AWAY FROM THE COUNTER" "PRIVACY ISSUES PRECLUDE US FROM LETTING ANYONE NEAR THIS COUNTER" "PLEASE DO NOT APPROACH THE COUNTER" IT IS RIDICULOUS. We are surprised there aren't signs that say "PLEASE DO NOT TOUCH THE MAGAZINES" "IF YOU MUST READ A MAGAZINE, PLEASE ONLY READ ONE AT A TIME" "PLEASE RETURN MAGAZINES TO RACK WHEN FINISHED" "PLEASE LEAVE OUR MAGAZINES ALONE!" Click to report rating    4/25/14   5     5     1     4   Overall happy with the treatment and the vets here. The wait time for appointments averages 30 minutes in waiting area and about 20 minutes in the office area. Hate to do it but with 4 dogs I just can't afford that kind of wait time. I don't accept it with my own doctor! RID: 51237

1/17/12   5     5     5     5   I love this place! Doctor's are great, they have many different services and they know their stuff. My dog loves Dr. Stone (who doesn't!?) he is such a compassionate vet- he actually sits on the floor with my dog- he truly cares- don't find that a lot. I wouldn't go anywhere else and I give this place a thumbs up! #1 in the region! RID: 30634

Click to report rating    1/8/12   3     5     2     2   I have been bringing my pets to Dr. Stone for well over 10 years. I first started bringing my pets to him when he worked as a Dr. at a small animal hospital. A few years ago I watched as he realized a dream of opening his own Veterinary Hospital. I was so very happy for him. I knew how long he had wanted this and it was beautiful to watch his dream come true. I did not expect him to change the way he did though. He is not the same caring compassionate Dr. he was in the beginning. He puts on a good show, but those of us who have known him all along can see it. He tries to hide it, but it's all about the money now. He way overbooks and his prices are pretty high. I miss the old Dr. Stone. This new showplace of a hospital is nice, but everything seems kind of phony. I never though I would go elsewhere, but I find I am Dr. hunting. It breaks my heart. You've changed Doc. RID: 30384

10/7/11   1     4     1     1   The facilities are modern, very clean and inviting. The Vets are caring and very professional but I have been very disappointed with the service otherwise. They have other facilities - Day Care, Boarding and Grooming which is not customer friendly at all. They charge in advance of the service so if your plans change you have to pay anyway - not useful for services like Day Care as I sometimes need short notice help. They are very strict on drop off and collection almost to a specific time like an appointment with the Vet - also inconvenient as most people need to work within a range for Day Care drop off and collection. The front desk staff are inflexible and seem to forget they are there to serve customers who pay significant fees for the service. Although the Vets are good, dealing with the front staff are enough to drive me away as a customer. Very dissappointing overall. RID: 28142
Click to report rating    9/9/11   2     5     3     5   The place is great staff was wonderful, careing, except I had an awful experience with DR JONES. She was so rude! She sounded like she had no idea what she was talking about and was telling me false information on my dog. I do NOT recomend her to anyone. RID: 27484
Click to report rating    7/27/11   5     5     5     5   Great place. Would absolutely recommend. Prices are utterly reasonable and when it came to recommendations the staff worked with in my means. I always prefer to be offered the best medicine by my Dr. and let me make the choice. No hard sell. Just really nice people at this place. The heart worm test was $10 less than the other vet. Dr. Nelson and Dr. Coger really good Vets. I have heard that Dr. Stone and Dr. Green are good too. RID: 26518
Click to report rating    7/12/11   4     5     5     2   When I relocated to NY this vet met many of my expectations. BUT I am hesitant to recommend them to others because their policy of selling you every test, procedure, and medication feels very excessive. I've witnessed this with other customers as well - going through a battery of "sales" questions before checking in their pets. I take a lot of pride in being on top of my animals' health and keep track of best medical practices. Which means I am also a fan of minimal approaches to treatment. For example, if I am giving my dogs heartworm medication as directed every month (or even just what's required - during the cycle months of heartworms) I shouldn't be required to do a yearly $60 test because the heartwork association of America "suggests" it. As a person on a limited budget who also enjoys giving their dogs a good life I am really turned off by this approach. The mark of a good vet is not just someone who cares for a family pet, but one who treats their owners with respect as well. RID: 26151

1/14/11   5     5     5     5   Dr. David Stone is more than a veterinarian, he is a saint. I originally met him when he practiced at another area hospital. He took care of my dog Jessie from the beginning as well as my other pets. Jessie, however, had issue from the beginning. From stomach issues to Epilepsy, early onset arthritis to old age. Jessie is now 12yrs and going strong, all thanks to Dr. Stone. A few years ago, he realized a dream of his, he opened his own practice. I have never seen a veterinarian's office like it. He has everything. He built it a little at a time, so it's not thrown together, it's a show place and provides every service an animal and their owner could ever need or want. There is of course, the best animal health care in the Capital District, along with a surgical suite. They provide boarding and a wonderful groomer. All with the best professionals there are and a bedside manner I wish my doctors had. If you go somewhere else, your pets are missing out on greatness. We love you Doc :-) RID: 22064

Click to report rating    1/19/09   5     5     5     5   I recently switched from another Vet Hospital and I am very impressed. I've had both my dogs in on emergency issues and was seen right away. I will gladly sit in the waiting room next time while other more critical patients are seen ahead of me. Bloodwork was completed while I waited and I had a diagnosis and medication all in an hour. The staff was wonderful with me and my husband; Facility is warm and welcoming. I'm glad I made the switch. RID: 11281

Click to report rating    10/30/08   5     5     5     5   Best vet I have ever been to! I gave punctuality a 5 even though there is a wait sometimes, but when you ARE the emergency you are seen immediately!!! Gizmo the himi loves Dr. Stone and Dr. Croger both! RID: 10449
Click to report rating    7/10/08   5     5     5     5   This is a great practice. They are wondeful with cats and Dr. Stone is an absolute delight. I've never minded the wait--animal emergencies happen and I'd want my guys jumped ahead if there was a crisis too. Every time I've been there I've been treated well by all and I've left feeling like my cats are loved and well cared for. RID: 9261
Click to report rating    4/27/08   4     5     2     5   Great place, good Doctors--two emergencies came in while I waited...finally we got in and the visit was really worth it--she's better! RID: 8293
Click to report rating    4/4/08   5     5     5     5   We have been pleased with Dr. Coger from the start. She is so warm and pleasant with our puppy and has been able to answer any questions we came in with. The staff there is nice as well. RID: 7924
Click to report rating    2/26/08   5     5     5     5   I first met Dr. Stone about 8 yrs ago when he was at Drumm Vet. He cared sincerely for our aging beagle, and subsequent end of life care. Now with cats, he remains the best of the best. I have recommended him to many friends who have loved him just as much. He is frank, friendly, and very trustworthy. I can't say enough wonderful things about this most wonderful man. He treats all pets and people with the same kindness and respect. The new office is gorgeous, and the community is lucky to have him and his wonderful staff. I haven't met his new partner yet, but am sure is just as terrific as David Stone is!!! RID: 7551
Click to report rating    12/15/07   5     5     5     5   I have known Dr. Stone from a prev. location. I have valued him since I met him. He and Dr. Coger are amazing vets. Smart, kind, caring. My cats [6] love them as do I. The wait is becuase their facility is a doctors office + an emergency room wrapped into one. You may have to wait, but to the other family whose animal is sick it is worth "donating" my time. If it were my pet who had an emergency, I would hope a routine appt would be bumped to save my cat's life. I applaud Drs Stone & Croger AND their wonderful staff. Your pet's CBC [complete Blood Count] can be done ON THE SPOT - saving another visit & time for critical issues. They have thought of everything & our family is blessed to have them. Click to report rating    8/20/07   5     5     4     5   I have been very pleased with the level of care provided by Dr. Stone at Bloomingrove. He answers questions sincerely and is excellent with my dog. The new facility is gorgeous; never thought I would think a vet's office worthy of the front cover of Better House and Home! The receptionists and vet techinicians are all very friendly and open to questions/concerns. My only concern is that occasionally there is a long (20-30 min.) wait even when there are only a few people in the waiting room. But I think it's worth it! RID: 5674
Click to report rating    8/15/07   5     5     5     5   This is an excellent Vet who knows his medicine, is great with the animals and their caretakers. This is a brand new facility. RID: 5619
