Dr. Saiki did a routine teeth cleaning on my parents 12 year old chihuahua mix (no extractions or excess plaque). My dad picked up the pup and he seemed in distress. My dad walked outside and then went back in because he was worried. Dr. Saiki said it was a normal response to the anesthesia. My dad started home and the dog started vomiting blood, he went back. Dr. Saiki took another look (he was really having a hard time breathing) and quickly gave him a shot to 'help him breath better'.... without telling my dad what it was or getting informed consent. My dad asked if his dog could stay over for observation and Dr. Saiki said they didn't have overnight staff, but did not say to take him to the emergency vet. He said to keep him warm and comfortable and he should be fine. 2 hours after they left the office, my dad's dog died. There is no reason at all that he should have died and it seemed to have been from trauma (since there was lots of blood) and there were no teeth extracted.

Dr. Saiki is the best! Very caring and considerate of both the animals he treats and the people who love those animals. The staff is friendly. This is truly a small town veterinary service where the the veterinarian and staff know your name and the name(s) of your beloved pet. Dr. Saiki has a practical and honest approach to treating animals and cares about the quality of life of our cats and dog.
