I took my dog to see Dr. Mayer. Despite faxing all info requested, she hadn't read any of it before the visit. The documentation and our discussion included extensive discussion of my dog's allergies. Despite this, she kept forgetting about the allergies and suggested therapies that my dog would be allergic to. In the end she sent me home with 4 different supplements. My dog had an extreme allergic reaction within 24 hours of the visit. I immediately called the clinic -- they did not return my call. Despite repeated attempts to talk to Dr. Mayer to find out what to do to help my dog, she never was available to talk to me. I finally figured out on my own that one of the supplements main ingredients was an item my dog was allergic to. In the end, they hid behind their waiver that they require to deny me the ability to return all the supplements that made my dog sick even though she had only taken one day of each of the supplements. I felt Dr. Mayer totally failed me and my dog.

Dr. Julie Mayer is the smartest vet I've ever known. Now that she's running a speciality clinic, we consult her whenever anything weird is going on with one of our rescues. She's always on the money with her diagnosis and advice.

This is a specialty veteranarian clinic specializing in rehabilitation, wellness and holistic medicine. They have an aquatic treadmill and do aquatic therapy in a lovely pool. The veterinarians there have both traditional training and training in holistic modalities, such as acupuncture, chiropracty and Chinese medicine. If your pet has been injured, has a chronic problem, needs to get in shape, this is the place to go. Chicago is so lucky to have this beautiful clinic.
