Click to report rating    2/9/15   2     2     2     1   They were polite but... My dog has had chronic ear infections all his life, he is a lab with big floppy ears. I routinely use ear cleaner and when necessary otibiotic ear drops. My previous vets knew that I knew how to handle. I had med that I brought from Virginia from the Virginia vet. to use prn. Buddy's ears have been in pretty good shape for awhile and I did not need the meds. I tried to fill it the Boca Delray rx 10 months later, they refused to cooperate with the online vet pharmacies. Went to awalk in pharmacy and they had to call the doc because they were not familiar with this particular med and Boca Delray Animal Hospital cancelled the rx without even bothering to give me a call. I get the feeling that they are just trying to generate more revenue. I have scheduled an appt for tomorrow from a recommended vet in this area. The other vet comes highly recommended, they price match with 1-800 pet meds and will call in rx in a pinch when I am in VA RID: 55823
Click to report rating    7/15/10   1     2     2     1   My cat, who had stopped eating & drinking, received a cursory exam and was quickly sold antibiotics costing $50. I had a funny feeling, so I sought a second opinion at Best Vet in Boynton Beach. The vet quickly noticed severe yellow jaundice in the cat's ears and eyes. He recommended blood tests and an X-ray, which confirmed his hunch that my cat's liver was failing. Sadly, my cat was too far gone and had to be euthanized, in part because I could not afford to hospitalize her for weeks. The vet and staff were respectful and compassionate. The cat might have survived if I had the resources to keep her in the hospital. But imagine if I had heeded the advice of Boca Delray Animal Hospital! My cat woiuld have had no chance at all with the antibiotic that they sold me. In addition, the vets in Delray spoke heavily accented English, and I had great difficulty understanding them.
